| Ultrasound question I took Madie today for an ultrasound. The vet saw at least two sacs. However, he thought that they were reflecting too much sound. Which means that there isn't as much amniotic fluid in them as he thinks there should be. Which he says might mean that Madie might be reabsorbing the embryos Okay we live in the middle of nowhere so I'm not sure how much experence my vet actually has with this. Where the sacs where looked pretty clear to me. We don't have a whole lot of choice on where to go for vets. And I do know that this one would do a good job on a C-section if needed. Has any one had an experience like this? I'm just a wreck. The vet didn't seem too sure about this. I'm wondering if the size of dog has anything to do with how the ultrasounds look. We live in farm country, and I'm sure that he doesn't get too many ultrasound for small dogs. What should I do. I'm suppose to take her back in a couple weeks to see if we can tell then, if they are absorbing back into her they will be gone then. I'm just going to be a mess till then. Please prey for us.

| Isn't this the same little yorkie girl that you are selling 6 weeks after the birth of her puppies?

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Gracie had a sono with her last pregnancy. Vet saw one pup. Gracie had 4 pups. So, I'm not sure if I'm sold on sonos or not. Is there another vet that you can get a second opinion from?

Donating YT 14K Club Member | WAIT! Your dog was bred the sometime Jan. 8 - 14th. That means that your bitch is approx 3 weeks pregnant. THIS IS TOO SOON TO DO A SONO!!!!!!! Of course you can hardly see anything or any fluid. She's barely pregnant!!! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28469 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29593

| vet Unless your vet is very knowledgable in reproduction, I would not worry myself about it. Reabsorption is not a common every day gestation problem,..of course it happens, but I never had a problem with it..and if it was common, certainly someone who has bred for so long should see it. At until the 8th week and do an xray. Kimberley is so right..3 weeks is a total waste of time and money. Last edited by YorkieRose; 02-01-2006 at 06:19 PM. |

| Thanks for your replies. I wasn't sure what to think. But you guys helped settle my nerves alittle. I hope everything is going to be okay. The only reason I had one done now is because that was what was suggested to me by the vet assistant. Thanks.
