Senior Yorkie Talker | Day 67 of pregnancy Lola has officially approached and passed both of her due dates (based on 2 breedings). Today we are on day 67 from the 1st breeding and day 64 from the 2nd breeding. Would like to know what's the longest anyone here has had a pregnancy for?

| My vet said 62 was the mark you might want to call the vet and have her induced. Keep us updated |

| I had one female go 70 days after the first breeding. Obviously the last breeding took. She delivered four beautiful healthy pups. I also had one go 69 day and she delivered with no problems. Some females just conceive later in their heat cycle. Has her pregnancy been confirmed by a vet? Do you know how many pups she is carrying. I pray all goes well. I know how frustrating these long puppy watches can be.

Thank you for your feedback! I am so nervous, I just don't want to overlook anything without becoming a hysterical mess Yes, we had XRays done last week and the vet said 2 pups.

How big is your female? Hopefully she will be able to deliver naturally.

| Dogs are pregnant 63 days from ovulation..... This could be 5 days after their last tie, so to induce at day 62 is not only ridiculous, it leaves you at risk for premature puppies. Please follow the advice of your vet and not someone who thinks they found puppies heartbeats of their pregnant dog (that their vet said wasn't pregnant and then changed it to pregnant with one puppy) with a "telescope"

I don't know the exact day because she is an extremely clean dog, so I have to look for swelling and hopefully I can catch a little discharge on my daily 'tissue dab' before she cleans it all up! In any case, I think we got her early and that's why we waited 3 days to breed again instead of my usual 2. Oddly, the first tie went much easier and smoother than the second, but it seems that, difficult or not, the second is the one that took. There is a ton of puppy activity in there, and it's getting to be annoying or uncomfortable for her because the kicks and bumps are visible at a distance and she looks at the spot with this annoyed look. It's a little funny

You have no clue what you're doing and you're passing your bad advice onto others. You shouldn't be breeding. And I hope you're prepared for your dog to die, because at the rate you're going, she probably will, as well as any pups she may be pregnant with. I hope she's not pregnant, but I guess it doesn't matter. You'll just keep breeding her.

| Yes, but you can't test conception, you CAN test ovulation. That's why at least 63 days is important. Dogs can still get pregnant 3 days after ovulation, but at least you know when she ovulated, not just that she tied and 3 days later tied again. Ovulation could have occurred at any time during the ties or even after. Knowing ovulation, by progesterone testing is key to knowing a better due date for your female. I learned all this after my accidental pregnancy and her subsequent c-section and spay. I don't need the knowledge now, since I never breeding again, but it's nice knowing it.

Thank you for your input! I did call my vet, not to induce, but to ask whether there are any concerns. I did leave a message because she's not in distress, and now I'm waiting to hear back. I am a little worried about the coming ice/snow storm tonight, but even then, I would never do any medical procedure unless completely necessary. It's my philosophy for my skinbabies too and myself.

There are people here who will help with good, solid knowledge. Unfortunately the other person giving advice is not a professional breeder, and I don't want her to steer you in the wrong direction. The breeders on here have many years of experience and are a godsend!! I had to speak to several when I had a whelping go wrong and ended up with a csection and my momma dog wouldn't feed or have anything to do with her pups,. They all rallied together and helped me, and I put a lot of trust in their experience.

This is great to know. I am still learning. I spent a couple of years trying to learn from a mentor that stepped out on me at the last minute after Lola was bred, so...not how I planned it, but I am still trying to learn all I can to make sure I do this right. Certainly past the ovulation testing phase right now, but will definitely keep it in mind going forward. Again, thank you!
