How has my story changed I went to vet he said she was not pregnant, and by the way she was gaining weight I continued to think she was, probably just being nervous and Yes there is more issues because she did kill my maltese but I can't changed that all I can do is take responsibility for that, and trust me I do that hurt everyone in my household and no one want to deal with her, but I got too I can't turn my back on her even tho I still can't believe my Maltese is gone.

I guess it is just weird that you went to the vet 3 times to confirm that she was not pregnant. Anyway, I am glad she is not pregnant and headed towards a healthier life.

Yes she have had xray's and my vet said twice now NO PUPPIES are in her. I am not a breeder and so I would not know why her nipples are distended is that a sign she could be pregnant, my vet said today she is not pregnant and her weight gain which was 5lbs in 3 weeks was OK so why do I seem to have everyone confused all I was asking advice on was if anyone thought she was pregnant because I did she still sleeps all day and lick her vulva so I guess Im confused too.

Yes because I didnt want to wake up and she having puppies. I wanted to know ahead of time because even tho he said she is not pregnant to me she still have signs she is and I think I read that Yorkie's can have false pregnancies, I don't know this is why I was asking for advice

im confused bc you said the vet said no puppies...so why the repeat xrays? Like i said im no breeder so maybe when you took her to the vet you should have asked that question...5lbs in 3 weeks, ok, originaly you stated she gained 7lbs in 2wks...thats why we are all confused.

It sounds like she might be having a false pregnancy. I have never dealt with it personally but, I have heard of them. Me personally, I would have had her xrayed that many times too. She is gaining weight very fast and her nipples are distened which are both signs of pregnancy. I'm sorry to hear about your maltese. It takes a strong person to still be able to care for this dog after what it has done. Good luck to you!!

I am not a breeder, definitely not, so I just have one question? Your vet was open today on a National Holiday honoring our Veterans who died for us? or did you go to an Emergency Vet?

Why would a vet expose this pup to that many xrays? At this point I'd be wondering how good this vet is, maybe a new vet who can explain all these things to you better is in order.

I'm Canadian so we dont have a holiday up here today...I had forgotten today was a holiday for Americans. This is exactly what I was thinking so I'm glad someone voiced this. I too am wondering the same thing...I personally would get a second opinion. Although I'm not sure I would go for a fourth x-ray....is there no other way to determine pregancy? blood test maybe like they do for us mere mortals? This has me totally stumped. I also agree with another poster...You are a very strong person to still be able to look after that pup after what's happened. I don't know that I could be that strong. Kudos too you. Hopefully you will get some answers soon.

I was only asking for advice and I'm still not sure why are you so confused. I said my vet said no puppies but she is still gaining weight, sleeping alot, and licking her self. So I asked for another one and he did it today and said she is not pregnant. And the weight thing I stated that I weighed her myself it could be off a little. I just was looking for some advice not trying to confuse no one, and still don't see how you are Thanks

Like I said before my vet is really good that is my opinion, and as for why he ws open today Im not sure but Ill be happy to give you his information so you can call and ask him why he was, I had an appt. and I went thats all I can tell you and also whats wrong with getting an 2nd xray to be on the safe side since she is still have sign of pregnancey I didnt sign up to prove thing to you or no one else I just was looking for advice and support.

This is a holiday here but I didnt not ask why he was open today I guess his choice, anytime I have called him he has answered for me but like I stated before Im more than willing to give you my vet info for u to call and ask him why he was open and she only has had 2 xrays not 3 and she continue to show sign she pregnant, just a few minutes ago she was nesting but like I said I got her so I have to either continue to make sure she is happy and healthy or find a home to fit her needs and I think Id rather keep her than send her to someone Im not sure if they will properly care for her

If you don't mind I would appreciate you either posting his name and number or pm it to me so I can call and ask. As a sister of military men, a mother of military children, and a friend of many others I am slightly offended and would like to ask him to reconsider, so yes please do send to me his contact information.

Also, xrays in of themselves are not healthy for anyone or any living thing. Your vet should have been able to do an xray and explain to you why your dog was acting pregnant etc., even though she wasn't because he read the xray and found that shes not. Either your vet is taking advantage of your checkbook, or he just isn't qualified to handle your pups issues.

I'm not trying to offend you at all, I'm trying to help. Please find another vet who can help your pup.
