Just wanted to ck in and see how our girl was doing!! |
She is doing great, she is walking very very good, and she tries to jump now but still wobbles. It's so adorable. |

Your pups should not even be close to fully weaned yet. Blue Ivy may not be able to tolerate vaccinations at the normal 9- 10 weeks for a first vaccination if she is behind in her development. |

 very good advice and i agree 100% but some vets are still stuck on 6 weeks, that was one of the reasons that i did my own vaccinations, when i raised puppies |

I also recommend Vets familiar with toy breeds and yorkies in particular to anyone getting a dog or puppy from me. |
Yes that is way to young. Then it's 4 weeks in between and rabies at 6 months. It's also against the law to self vaccinate. You have to be a qualified vet. You need to educate yourself if you are planning on doing this right. Sticky note on vaccination protocol. |
One of the things I have learned from both Yorkie Talk and reputable breeders (despite the advice from some vets who generalize WAY too much) is to never get a puppy from a breeder who vaccinates too early. Lorraine gave you some great advice here, however another breeder says she only vaccinates at 11 weeks and then evaluates at 12 weeks if the pups are ready to leave their mom, she usually sends pups to their forever homes at an average of 14 weeks of age. |
The vet that I go to is a veterinarian hospital Dr. Moony. When I took Blue Ivy in with concerns of her hind legs, at the end of visit I asked him when to bring the pups in for their check up and vacs. He said usually he does them between 6 to 8 weeks, so I took it upon my on to say 7 weeks, but I can wait. A lot of the breeders here and the surrounding areas take their dogs to him. I told my new puppy owners to wait till they are 10 weeks before the can come get their baby. They have teeth now and Sasha has stop letting them latch, so I am moistening puppy food with warm water and some soft caned food and letting each one lick off of a spoon. I have to laugh, cause I even put my face close to the bowl to make it seem like I'm eating to see if they will do it, so far three has got it, the others still wants to play tug of war on my shoe laces, shirt and shorts, but we will get it. I leave the food there and another bowl with a little water and I check back and forth to see how much and who is eating pretty good, mommie just looks on the opposite side of the gate and whines till I let her in to eat the remaining. |
There are many vets that are just not "expert" at working with small dogs. They work mostly with medium to large sized dogs. A little dog cannot tolerate the same types of treatment as even a 15 to 20 pound dog can. I was blessed to have a vet that was accustomed to working with Yorkies and knew enough to spread out the immunizations to the appropriate times for a puppy her size. While I had small dogs before Gracie she was a considerable bit smaller than even they were. Your mother dog needs to dry up gradually but still have social interaction with the pups. They will stop regarding her as a meal source once they are getting enough food from what you provide them. They need fresh food at least 4 times a day with clean water available at all times. As I'm sure you know you are at the point where you will be providing a lot more care to the pups as mom is not going to do the cleaning up after puppies that are being weaned. It is a lot of work but it is a critical stage in their development. They may be able to survive away from the mom but they truly are still infants and need to stay in that environment until they are more physically and emotionally ready to face the huge change it is for them to go to their forever homes. |

Yes I have taken on the roll of wiping down my little ones, they go to bathroom and their I am wiping bottoms, I have learned from my groomer to scissor or shave around their tussy, I'm proud of myself for that. Mommie is still with babies and she is such a good mommie, I kind of follow her lead, I just help out when needed. I'm am no where close to giving vacs, so I will listen to my vet and take them at 8 weeks. If he says different then, then I will listen to what he tells me. |
You send pups out at 10 weeks? Ask DrMoony if he has ever read dr. Dodd's protocalol. Lol i said dr sears had to edit. |
Do all respect, since myself have not read. You can call and ask him any questions or concerns that you might have. But I will have to put that one in my IBook library to read. As far as the ten weeks old, the friends and family that they are going to we communicate on a regular basis, I've also talked with other breeders, some say 8 weeks some here say 10 weeks, 12 weeks, it all depends, just watch them close and use good judgment, rather it be 8 10 12 or so on, wouldn't you think? |

I did my last vaccines myself, and know plenty of people who do. I don't believe in doing scheduled vaccines for my children or my pets. I space them out. |
I have friends who vacinate their dogs themselves. I have my own opinions on DIY vet care but its legal in CA except rabies. |

As Yorkiemom1 stated people did not just form a club and decide that 12 weeks is the best time for a Yorkie pup to go to it's new home. This is based on careful study by experts. I might add that this is not just the reccommended age for Yorkies. All breeds are more physically and emotionally ready to face the world at 12 weeks. Careful observation comes in when a puppy may actually need to stay with the breeder even longer. Beyond that a person who is breeding to produce quality show and breeding stock cannot properly evaluate their potential at such a young age. I used to show and breed Himalayan cats and the reccommended age for them to leave the mom is around 12 to 13 weeks. I'm sure that sounds strange as cats are supposed to be more independent than dogs. Just like a puppy they can survive at 6 to 10 weeks but they are not really physically or psychologically ready to leave and be thrown into a foreign situation. Just like puppies they cry and are anxious about new situations before that age. The extra time with mom and the litter mates is vital. Something happens around 12 to 13 weeks that awakens their ability and desire to explore and accept new situations. I'm sure your family members are anxious to get their new puppies as we all are when we anticipate a new puppy but give the best interest of the babies the consideration they need. Vet's have a lot of medical knowledge but many of them know precious little about the breeding and raising of these creatures. |
This is copied straight from your facebook: If you are still looking for that special little yorkie pup, inbox me for information on them, they are cute as a button and you will fall in love with these precious little angels!!!!!!! I thought you already had these pups spoken for? I thought you were only giving them away and charging for vetting only? I know you are selling them. Also, you are very active on the BR City Bullies site etc., and there are many pics of you with the elaborate kennels in your yard...a picture perfect byb set-up - Yorkie or not you are a seasoned byb breeder. You are actively breeding and know alot more than you portray here. Let me be clear here, all the info I have found is PUBLIC you do not have any restrictions on any of your websites/facebook(s). I have no idea why you annoy me as you do, maybe because I know your taking advantage of people here, and though I don't know them all personally, I consider them my friends. Nothing you have ever said has rang true to me, I am not an idiot, I work with mentally unhealthy people, criminals and addicts all day everyday, I am a very "street smart person" you may be fooling some of the folks here but you are not fooling me. There I've said my peace. Suncera, if I thought for a minute you were genuine I'd be all for it....you are not. Blessed AndHighlyfavored | Facebook |
Blessed AndHighlyfavored Blessed AndHighlyfavored I have to tell you, they will be the perfect little purse pooches. Stick her/him in your purse and off you guys go. Dress them up, comb their soft silky hair, no shedding, they are perfect. You would be very satisfied!!!!!! Lol Saturday at 6:51pm via mobile · https://s-static.ak.facebook.com/rsr...rP8vlvSl_8.gif 1 This bothers me...purse pooches? I'm not trying to attack you , but when you post things online on a site you created to make sales you are opening yourself up to criticism. Nothing about screening buyers on the education required in caring for a puppy let along Yorkie specific needs but a sales pitch on them being a fashion accessory on the go...do you care who buys your pups? What happens when they decide the purse pooch is out of style-do you buy them back, do you work with a rescue that will aid in taking your dogs in-do you have a contract in place that says all pups need to be rehomed by you-that you need to prescreen rehomers-if you aren't (I'm asking and guessing) thoroughly screening buyer are you leaving rehoming and what becomes of the pup to the buyers? At the end of the day I don't know you you don't know me it's nothing personal, my only concern is these puppies and dogs. Having the know how to screen buyers, in lace adequate contracts (covering all the what if's) being there to answer puppy care questions and breed specific know how are a small part of what a breeder does-this is why a reputable breeder works under a mentor not DIY learn as you go and it comes up. How many of the pups you produced were bought by someone who randomly decided to become a BYB...then when they get into trouble the what come to you for guidance? Usually as with you they end up on YT and get mad when people say-why did you do it all backwards and then want people to fix the mess? I'm sorry too I get annoyed when I as a pet owner realize I know more about breeding than half these people who have been hands on breeding for years:confused::eek::( Is your husband aware of the current issue with breeding blues>? Bully blues? Ya'll have a lot to learn. My comments aren't meant to condemn but to get you thinking and everyone else too, as others will read this in years to come. These standards are not the highest to reach they are the bare minimum that should be required... If you want to turn it around please, go to the breeders section and ask what type of contract you need and how to screen buyers-in the end you have a whole lot of dogs and puppies who need forever homes and it is your duty to them to make sure they find safe, knowledgeable, loving forever homes-not just placements. I do have to say in Suncera's defense as many have and will jump on her-she does provide from what I can see a very clean environment for her dogs. Gigi has a yeast infection of the skin btw. ***She needs to eat yogurt with live cultures three times a day-and if it doesn't clear up in a week she needs antibiotics from the vet because it could be a bacterial infection-things like Angels Eyes will clear it up but they are a band-aid solution and in the end only exacerbate the issue. Here's a recipe to use after the infection is treated-the recipe will clean up the hair and bleach it back to white. recipe for removing tear & beef stains: 1 tsp each of Milk of magnesia, corn starch, and 3% hydrogen peroxide. Mix it into a paste, then apply to stained areas and let it dry overnight. Then you can bathe her the next day. This might have to be done a couple times. |

She is dealing with ADULTS hopefully....excited to be getting a new puppy is great, but refusing to understand why or not allowing the puppy to develop to its full potential before it leaves momma, is immature and selfish.....tell them to get over it! The babies DO NOT LEAVE UNTIL THEY ARE READY TO GO....PERIOD! |
I have to say that Yt'ers are some of the best detectives around. And it is Dr Carmen not Carmelo Battaglia... LOL - not that I think this Suncera person will be going to any lectures anytime soon.... My large breed puppies don't go to homes until 10wks old - by then they usually weigh about 15-25 lbs. (smiles) or about 2-3 yorkies..... They have been temperament tested (twice), evaluated, and have learnt pack dynamics. They have been introduced to collars and walking on lead. They have started sit, and come. They have been groomed numerous times, have had their nails trimmed, baths, grooming, including clippering, scissors, brush and comb, and hair dryer. Have been exposed multiple times to all the sights, sounds, and smell of a busy household. |
Like I said thanks for watching me so close, and keeping me in order, but please ask me first before assuming, I have a Facebook friend actually two Facebook friends that have litters of puppies that they wanted me to advertise for them and I said that I would and I can only give them advise of what you ladies give me, which is very good advise. It seems like you guys are just waiting for a disaster or for something or someone to do something that's not in your or the breeds standard. I have learned a valuable lesson and still learning. So before you jump to conclusions if your on Facebook and you want to know something just ask me, don't snoop around that's like stabbing a person in the back or being their friend in front their face and then talking about them behind their backs. I have nothing to hide from strangers or know one. If I tried to follow all of you ladies and/or Gents instructions and guidelines I would be crazy in the head by the end of the day. Lynzy, I am not a bad person and I get along with everyone, when you saw that on Facebook instead of running to yorkietalk, why didn't you ask first before assuming, and that goes for any of you. Trust I gather all information that you give me and thankful for it. But a snooper I am not and also if I want to know something or I am concerned about something I will go to the source myself and ask. I feel you and others are trying to make me out of something that I am not. Or you guys just need something to complain about. There are millions on the Facebook page that are advertising and selling puppies, that are not of you guys standard so if you really wanted to attack someone you guys would have a field day their. I guess I'm just convienant to take your stress off on me if you see things out of order. Again my puppies are already ready going to their new homes and I'm not charging them no where close to what I have put in on them, the money I care less about, I am Blessed and Highly Favored. You ladies/gents want a eye full go to your Facebook page and do a search for wanted dogs and puppies, Yorkies for sale all colors, sand springs puppy paws, critter corner to name a few. I have to laugh because I feel special having stalkers and it makes me feel you are really concerned, hopefully when I am ready, the ladies here that are breeders can help me and not be criticized of my past, which is the past. But that to much like right. I think what you want me to say is that I change my mined about wanting to be a breeder or show quality dogs, but that not gonna happen, like I said I'm not a quiter, and once that person feels that I am ready then I will go from their. Maybe for you guys that are so concerned we can make a meet and greet somewhere so you can get to know the person that was once on the wrong track but turned herself around to wanting to do whats best for my dogs. |
thanks Lynzy I had absolute full suspicion that we are dealing with someone who is already a full blown byb. I've asked several times about the registration, AKC/CKC? because if she is in Louisiana Canadian Kennel Club holds no water to someone in the US buying a pet, unless they are buying from a certified registered breeder such as mine or Lorraine. Suncera I don't think you are being fully honest with us, you breed mini schnauzer, maltese, yorkies and pit bulls? I think this thread should be closed as I think the initial question was just bogus and as I think she's is fishing to try and score a champion show dog for her breeding just to look good on paper and increase her prices. Sorry but it's my honest opinion |
Yes our kennels with our American bullies is what you saw, my small dogs are in the house. Again not trying to get you guys to like me or dislike me. I know only the negative things that I have done for my toy breeds. If you look good on BRCITYBLUEBULLIES Facebook all of those are still puppies so have not breed them yet, which my husband will and he is working with the breeders that show, the parents and grandparents of those dogs you see, and have won CH and GRCh of those dogs you see. I have nothing to hide from no one. Until you get to know a person, don't judge. So on that note, I will still come here as I do for valuable information that I need to know, but will reframe asking because if asked the wrong way or by expressing your self in the wrong way, people take it and run all different ways with it. So you guys can be as judgmental as your little hearts need to be. I have received lots of valuable information and will still post pictures of Blue Ivy so that you guys can watch her grow. Will be silent from here, thanks |
Oh by the way my other Facebook page is puppiesandpaws, there's a lot of byb's there, maybe some that you guys know. |
