Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() Actually no it isn't NORMAL for a standard size yorkie to have a C-Section.... but it IS too common for a Tiny to have one - I'm not an expert ...but too many people can tell you that a normal standard size yorkie should not require a C section unless there is a major problem |

I usually don't post on these threads because I'm not a breeder nor do I pretend to be, but this just breaks my heart. I can't even fathom my little 4lb Widget pregnant. I applaud you you for having the courage to post this as I'm sure you will take the heat for it. I pray that your post will cause others to 'get it' and understand the pain you and Peanut have gone through.

| ![]() First of all, I just wanted to say that it takes a brave person to admit when they were wrong. I can't imagine how heartwrenching it must have been to see her go through being stiched up, the poor thing just wouldn't understand. I have a hard time hearing Brandy cry just when she gets a shot. I'm glad she made it through. Give her lots of kisses and thank god she's still there for you. You are doing the right thing getting her sprayed. Some people just make their dog go through c-section after c-section. Very unnatural. I was the one who started the poll because a person on here who has all 6 of her breeding yorkies under 5 lbs, the latest was a 31/4 being breed to a 3 lb. male. I believe it is wrong under all circumstances, no matter now much of an expert a person thinks they are. These females have to carry around so much extra weight, over half of their initial weight. Could anyone imagine doubling your weight when you're pregnant? I'm glad they're all doing so much better this morning. I'm so glad you shared your story. With the way the poll ended I was a little worried about novice breeders trying to breed tinies. It really needs to be stressed, no breeding puppies under 5 lbs! |

| ![]() I am so glad you and the babies (and mama) are healthy! I commend you for sharing your story, you have a very important message! Can we please not start a debate, and make this thread about awareness for new breeders and members. |

| ![]() Its well worth taking a bit of heat to me to let others know how its most likely going to turn out or worse. The male I bred to is so small but it just plainly doesnt matter. It doesnt make a bit of difference. Their lil bodies just are not meant to have babies. I feel pretty embarassed and guilty but its much worse to not share how not listening to documented history can go. Its not a very intelligent decision. Anything you go thru is absolutely in no comparison to the little dogs experience. |

| ![]() Thanks so much for sharing your story with us...Peanut must have gone through the most terrible experiences of her life...I'm sorry that you had to learn the hard way. Hopefully it will keep others away from breeding these tinies. Maybe people will think twice about doing this to their babies. Tinies should NOT be bred...By the way, I'm glad that you shared this with us and I hope that the mommy and the babies get better and I'm sorry that you lost the 3rd little girl... |

| ![]() What a great REALITY story, for anyone that is thinking of or would consider breeding a small female.. thanks for your truth and honesty. I hope if makes a difference for someone out there, that is considering it,,or someone that will do it and never stops to think of the risks.. Glad momma and the 2 babys are doing better. Out of your trauma.. if you teach one person, that's all you can hope for.

| ![]() I am terribly sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your story. I do have a question though-what size was the male that she was bred to? Does this make a difference? Both of my Yorkies are tinies-3 lbs or so with the male being smaller than the female. Can these two have puppies together or would it be wiser to spay her and stud him out? We don't want the money from the puppies-only wanted to let her have 1 litter and keep them ourselves ![]()
