This was the first year that all my puppies in every litter survived. Up until now one out of just about every litter died.... (stuck... too small... etc)....and my girls are 5 pounds and above. I have never had to have a c-section on my girls..... but that time may come eventually....

You're right...there is risk for every pregnancy. There is very seldom a perfect whelping. But, how many standard yorkies verses tiny yorkies have had to have a c-section? I think you will find that the tinies will have more c-sections than a standard by comparison.
