| ![]() me oh my! unless you are a vet or good friends with one, then dont breed. Some breeders here think they have a degree in breeding and are a bit stuck on themselves. you are right everyone starts somewhere. developing a excellent relationship with a vet or having a close friend that is one will help |

The beauty and the curse of the internet is that people can find information about absolutely everything. The flip side of that is people then take what they find there and think of themselves as experts and prepared without doing any of the hands-on, real life work that goes along with it. It's one thing to read about what to do if a pup is stuck. It's quite another to actually REMEMBER what to do an actually act appropriately when it happens in front of you. It's even harder to accuarately describe in a post what is happening in front of you when you've never actually been in the situation before. The accuracy of that description can be the difference between life and death. This is where a hands on, in-person mentor or the presence of a vet makes all the difference. As for whether or not it's abusive to purposefully breed when you really haven't done all the prep work, we will have to agree to disagree. In this case, the OP has been a member here since 2009 and therefore has had the information about finding a mentor prior to breeding available to her.
