*sigh* NO..... she's not even showing signs of labor. She's eating like a hoover and she's up and around with my other dogs. However she is sleeping more. She's showing no signs of stress or discomfort. She's just big, really really big... I took her temp this evening and it was down to 98.7. Sooo, here's hoping she goes into labor early in the morning. | |

| ![]() *update* Roxy has done so well with her whelping. So far we have a total of 7 puppies. 4 girls and 3 boys! I can feel at least 1 more still in her, but it seems like he labor has stopped. I have contacted the vet and will take her in at 5 if she hasn't had the remaining pups by then. She is just worn out |

One of the danger signs Three hours of no labor beteen pups and you think/know there is another pup. She has either lost her elasticity to whelp naturally or has no more energy to progress.

| ![]() *update* The vet has just come to talk to me. They are going to first check Roxy's calcium levels, if it's OK then they will go ahead with the oxytocin shot. If the levels are low they will give her and IV of fluids to raise her levels and then give her the shot. |

| ![]() The oxytocin doesn't seem to be working. They've given her 1 unit in her muscle and 3 units introveniously. |

| ![]() The dosage on a toy dog should be 1/4 cc. She's in good hands with your vet. I'm sure the next step is to C-section her.

It sounds as if she has no elasticity.....that can be checked by pressing the vaginal walls.
