| Woogie man.... You have to remember back in the day my father did not have prepared milk in cans to use. it was a long way to a shop, we lived in the countryside of northern UK...all breeders used local goat farmers milk....in the winter he could not always get out...snow got deep. He would express milk when needed and it is not always easy...but some moms gush when touched..they were the best... I have done it a few times to reduce engorged teats...and collected it for a failing one...BUT I use canned myself for a long, long time... I did have one mom who would stand up and I coudl easily express the milk into a small bowl under her..she was so full it must have made her feel ever so much better. | Sorry for your loss, sounds like your vet hit it on the nose thought. You did evrything right. I just attended at WONDERFUL seminar on breeding, whelping and puppy intensive care. She has figurred out a way to make little breast pumps and gives ways to store the milk. The seminar was amazing. She sells eveything you need and has a wonderful segment on stuck puppies. I learned so much even after 30 yrs of doing this. She sells her books also. One thing I found very exciting was a preemie tool they use in hospitals for getting out the mucus when they are born. It is amazing. Her name is Mayra Savant-Harris. Hopefully everyone who has a chance to attnd her seminar will. It is worth every penny. sparklingbluyorkies.com |

| i'm soo sorry for your loss. just remember that little charlie, as short as his life was, had a Good life, with love and comfort around the clock, never having to feel alone because not only was his momma and siblings there for him, but he had you as well and that means a lot. all puppies ever want (appart from food) is love and cuddles, and he got plenty of those, and will always be remembered.
