Sure, I am a car nut! My favorite car was a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner 440 6-pack that I bought new when I left active duty the first time, and used it for college. Got all of 10 MPG and cost me $500 to fill it up.

Now, my wife drives a 09 BMW 135 Convert, I have a 08 Corvette Z06, and we share a 09 Subaru Outback Turbo for chores and to haul the big dog around in.

My next vehicle will be the GT-R. Twin Turbo and All Wheel Drive.

I have had a bunch of cars over the years. My biggest mistake is when I bought a 67 427 Stingray Convert from a Marine buddy for $1600.00 back in 73, and sold it several years later when my oldest daughter was born.

Have had Pontiacs, Chevy's, Dodges, Jeeps (Had a 07 Jeep SRT and a 07 Dodge Superbee # 498) Honda's, Mercedes, BMW's, even an old Opel Manta.

The AKC is just the registry that the YTCA uses, it doesn't set the standard, the YTCA sets the standard, and so what the AKC decides shouldn't affect what the YTCA decides. For example, the AKC registers floppy eared yorkies, does that mean the YTCA should change the standard to include both floppy eared and perky eared yorkies? I guess I don't understand the argument that if the AKC allows it, the YTCA should accept it in it standard.


The YTCA has "no control" over yorkies or breeders, only the standard, and they have taken control of it, and that's exactly what some people don't like. I think they to try to educate the public on why something isn't good for the breed, and some people will listen and others won't. I agree with you on being scared about what some people are doing to Parti's, but I fully understand why the mother club doesn't want to accept this fault. Do you think these other breeders would listen to the YTCA anyway? They don't now, so why would they in the future? I also personally believe that even if the mother club did accept the parti color, there would be some new thing that would develop and be called "rare", and a buzz would be created for that. Lets face it, with the right marketing a dog can be sold for so much more, but again, selling isn't the purpose of a breed club. The members are not trying to supply the pet market, but are acting as conservators for the breed.

On the question concerning cars, I drive a red one!

My husband is a car nut as well. He used to have a 1964 Chevy Impala hardtop 327 with a power glide transmission. He sold it to pay for our wedding. Now he has a 1974 Chevy Impala custom 2 door coupe with a 350 in it. He is a big Chevy fanatic.

I understand those who breed partis because of their love for them, but you're practically admitting to breeding them simply to make money off of them. I don't believe living creatures should be considered a product that is produced with the intent to make a profit.
