Wow! What an interesting thread! I had some "ah-ha!" moments, and some sad ones, and even a few LOL ones. I had to laugh that this breeder totally told on herself, after the OP didn't name her. What will happen next? Only time will tell. Oh, and Wylie'smom? You are brilliant! |

Yea, I also find it funny when they crawl out of the woodwork and have viewed the site for so long, but never post until this!!!!HAHA Was it just me or did this honest person make a boo boo when she stated she bought a puppy from this breeder, then in the next paragraph, this breeder, so concerned for the way a YT'r treated this kind soul GAVE her a puppy.... Oh, please come back,,, I can always use a good laugh after a hard day!!!!!LOL Perhaps instead of warning us not to pass judgement on someone doing very questionable practices, you should be warning HER not to phone breeders and give her lifes history and business practices out....perhaps she should save that for you when you visit her again!!! Does anybody else find it odd that a woman who re-sales rescues for $100 - $2000 would give a complete stranger a free puppy just out of the blue and the kindness of their hearts? I'm sorry, I just really find that hard to believe. Not that I don't think that there are good people out there. But this just seems suspect to me. And as I have been reading this 11 pg thread, my own sweet Cricket is sitting on my chest (her favorite nap place) licking my neck and earlobe telling me she loves me the bestest! And it saddens me that someone would use a rescue in such a deplorable way.... |
And one other thing.... I just purchased Cricket and she has LS. Will one of you lovely ladies give me a puppy when she passes??? (JK I am working with the vet to keep her in good health) :-P |
Almost duped too I am fairly new to this forum too. Just reading the post about the breeder who is selling just to sell is sickening. My husband and I were looking to add another yorkie to our family so we went surfing the web this passed weekend. We found this add in the recycler who was giving away the yorkie for free! So out of curiosity, we emailed back inquiring about the ad. We received a response the following day. It sounded legit based on the email we received. The owner was asking questions about what we did, if we travelled a lot, how would we care for the dog, etc. We emailed back with answers to the questions. A few hours later, we received a response again this time this person was saying that we needed to send a $150 "transfer of AKC papers fee" and that he/she would pay for the flight of the dog and whatever else. He/she asked for our address, phone#, what airport we're close to, and that we send pictures periodically so he/she can see that their dog was being taken cared of. Well, this was when we got skeptical and emailed this person back relaying the message of "we just want to make sure this was not a scam" so we asked for other suggestions before we send the money. Never heard back from this person since yesterday. I just think it's so sad and sickening how people take advantage of situations liks this! |
Is it just me, or do all these 1 and 2 post newbies "smell" like Melissa disguising herself by creating a bunch of fake screen names? With the exception of Mollys Mum (Parker) all of them are suspiciously from Ca:mad: just saying:D |

Scammers are very good at what they do so ALWAYS ask questions and never send money via Western Union especially for some made up fee. I believe most sellers (legit) don't pick up the shipping - that's on your end....) personally I'd never have a puppy shipped but know others have and it's worked out. I'm just not one of those people unless I had LOTS of dealings with them (like someone on here with a good track record) You're better off networking with legit breeders - there's plenty out there that are honest - maybe not with the best puppies - but if you're looking for a pet only - try to make connections with people that have proven results and customers that you can talk to.....you never know who you're dealing with these days unless you do lots of research. |
Wow! Way to go to welcome someone who is completely new to this forum yorkielover4lif. Though I completely understand your skepticism, I can assure you that my husband and I are not what you call "fakes". We have a beautiful Yorkie and her name is Kiwi. We've had her since she was 8 weeks old. Now she is 7yo. We were simply looking to add to our family. We shared the post because we recently experienced a scam this passed weekend. After reading several posts here, we thought it would be informative to share what we went through recently. Thank God whoever that scammer was didn't get anything from us. We don't have any information as to who this person was because we found the ad in the recycler and communicated that way. If only my husband could remember what the screen name was we can probably share this information here as well. |

bty, I responded to an ad yesterday for an APRI female puppy and got that same scam:mad: I politely responded to the email :" How stupid do you think I am!" Scammers!:eyetearss Also btw, welcome to YT:yorkietal |
I bought from this breeder.............. Actually that is not true.....First let me say I had no idea this site existed until I received a text message from the breeder asking me to log on here and tell everyone that I know her and her family personally and that she was a good person and a great breeder (I kept the text, just to cover myself, no slander) I text'd her back stating that I was not willing to do it because I infact do NOT know her and her family personally, here is my story............ As a military person I was in training and gone from home, at the time I had a beautiful maltese girl that we bought from a pet store in the mall in Escondido, my girl got out and got pregnant while I was gone. I AM NOT A BREEDER, nor did i want to become one. Boo (my girl) gave birth to 4 little puppies, who looked like maltese, I rehomed two of them to people I worked with but was sort of left with two others and didnt know what to do. Also let me say that after giving birth my girl turned mean, she started snapping at my son, my husband and i were pretty upset. I received a call from the Temecula breeder who asked me to bring the puppies to her to look at, we did. She asked us to "trade" our puppies for a yorkie, sounds silly, but we had a yorkie who was stolen from us in Hawaii 5 years ago two days after xmas, my family was wrecked, she was 6! We saw the yorkie and fell IN LOVE, we said yes. About two weeks later she called us to let us know one of the puppies died, and she wanted a replacement, I was beside myself, she wanted her yorkie back which we had fell in love with by that time, I said "sorry but no" she started quoting the bible to me and telling me her business was not doing well, i told her my maltese boo and the yorkie were not getting along and that boo;s personality had changed and i wasnt sure how to handle it and thought of rehoming her, she said she would take her in her home as a pet (PET!!) As weird as i sounds, we were happy to find her a home - NO MONEY EXCHANGED HANDS..... Last week I received a text stating "your yorkie is a year and a half now, let me breed her" She stated that she lost a lot of her dogs to some STD, and that her business has suffered, I felt bad but I text'd "no my husband and I do not want to breed her, she's so little, but thank you" The next text was SO MEAN, she told me I wasn't saved and just flipped out on me..............I am still upset. She also then told me she had my female maltese "fixed and sold for $100" Many, many mistakes made on my part, many! But I am really upset about this whole situation and probably should not blog about it but i get the feeling I have not heard the end of this and basically I do not know how to handle this, again I AM NOT A BREEDER, I am just someone who loves yorkies and fell in love with the one I have as soon as i seen her because she reminded me of the one we lost. I since found out that the other puppy I gave her died, she claims they were genetic defects which I cannot dispute because I don't know enough, but I do know that the other two whom I rehomed with my co-workers are happy and healthy. I know I sound like a fool which I am not, but my behavior was foolish............I get that now. The person who blogged regarding the home, I have been there, and yes there are no kennels, the dogs run in the backyard. Today my baby is 18 months old, I think...........I was never given papers. Everything I am saying are just facts, as foolish as they make me sounds. I do believe she has a good heart, but I do not want to be harrased either. |
jaysmart - I can't say I followed your post as I haven't really been involved in all this but just want to tell you what you said was HONEST and sounds like you have a good heart....can't say the same for whoever you dealt with. you said she lost alot of dogs to an STD ? Are you serious ? That's just shameful and speaks volumes about any breeder that could let that happen..... how sad for the dogs..... I admit to being lost with the many posts (don't have time to read all of them) but to me every thing I read screams BAD breeder. If you can call this 'breeding' - sounds more the word should be dog 'SELLER' - All the best to you and anyone else who has to deal with this kind of c**p. People who take advantage of others need to take a loooong look in the mirror - course they may not see a reflection but still..... |

She might be lying to you about the puppy dying. At any rate if she wanted to come back on you she should have had an autopsy showing why the puppy died. That is what I would tell her if she contacts you again. |

To Jaysmart, I would like to say I believe everyword you wrote. That is the type of person I though she would turn out to be, not the caring lady that the other newbies claimed her to be. I don't dislike her but I dislike the breeder/business person she is. Sounds like she sits around looking a her list of victims and ponders on how to make her next dollar, while the ones that suffer are the doggies. It breaks my heart that people such as this, take advantage of people and animals. In time, if she continues these practices her business will close because people like you and the original poster will keep coming forward and telling of their experience with her. This is the only way to stop her until we get laws in place that will protect animals from this cruility. I am sorry you had to go through this experience yourself but glad at least one of the dogs she had is in a good loving home now... Congratulations to your new addition to your family!!!!! |
Keep Posting I intend to keep this thread current and in doing so-hopefully it will continue to caution buyers from purchasing their pups from breeders like SweetYorkieKisses. |
I just want to thank you for your original post. I am looking for another baby to add to my family, and I live in Riverside Ca. which is not far from this person. I like to think I would have been smart enough to see the red flags. But puppies are so cute, sometimes we think with our hearts and not our heads. So thank you again for making me look closer at any breeder, so I get a healthy baby. Thank you Cathy |
I thought I would let you all know, I have been to Sweetyorkiekisses house and found it very clean the dogs are clean, groomed and well cared for. Her children are sweet and good mannered. I'm sure some of you have breeders have sold dogs for friends and found homes for unwanted dogs even have mix breed dogs. If you make any money from the sale of dogs then you are not the one to talk. Some of what is said here are lye's. You all need to stop this gossiping. The breeder who first posted this thread has never met Sweetyorkiekisses and only made assumptions and you all are taking part in slander. You are only hurting her family. Think if this happened to you. Case closed :( Here are the YorkieTalk Rules & Guidelines: 1. Please be civil and do not personally attack anyone or their opinions. If you disagree with their approach or method, feel free to reply, but do it in a civil way. Or you can choose to ignore their post altogether. I am not surprised.. |
All YT's Read BabyCakes response!! First off, I really appreciate that you continue to posting on this thread, I want this thread to be as current as possible and continue to be high on the list of posts. I imagine you are Melissa from SweetYorkieKisses or a friend who is making up stories in hopes that "someone" out there will find SweetYorkieKisses as reputable breeder. Not a chance. Where should I start? Yesterday, I received a call from a local breeder that asked me if I was willing to "trade" my puppy for a dog she wanted to sell. I told her that was out of the question! I was curious as to why a breeder was calling a stranger and making an offer like this. This woman has been breeding yorkies for years and I remind you (she has a nice website, on google and several other legitiment sites.) She told me she adopts yorkies from a shelter for a fee then turns around and sells them on sites including yorkie talk-and makes several hundred dollars selling them to a person who see a cute dog at a great price and listens to a fictious history and once again...what a great deal!! It is so sad. The dog may have been abused and neglected, scared of children or other animals and they will probably end up at another shelter before long. She is also buying very cute yorkies with (AKC papers) from Mexico. I wonder if the akc paper work is fraudulent....hmmm...i vote yes....would the buyer do their homework and call AKC? I always remind my buyers just because a dog is registered AKC does not mean that the dog cannot pass down congenital problems, temperment issues....etc She buys these babies for $ 400 and sells them for $800-$1,000. Great deal eh?? The buyers love the pups face, the kisses and the snuggling...chaa ching...she has a buyer. Chances are this baby will end up sick. No history...no research...it is the fault of the seller and the buyer. She is breeding some of her own yorkies When questioning her further...she says the father is "ummm at a friends house and he is getting his akc this week." She also sells, biewers, poodles, morkies...too many to list...do you see this on her site....no you don't...if you DON'T do your research you never will. It is frustrating...to see this happening. She and (many other "so called breeders") are putting these poor yorkies through hell to make a buck to satisfy that rotating door of buyers who don't bother to do some research and are convinced they are getting the deal of a lifetime. I am NOT the only person who has dealt with SWEETYORKIEKISSES. Are all these people making their experiences up??????????????????? So, YorkieBabyCakes....continue to post....I love it....Keep this thread current so all the buyers out there can contine to read about the unethical breeders such as Melissa and Yourself. |
We also do not tolerate members that take advantage of our community with stories that don't make sense or outright lies. We rely on an honor code in our community, lying to our community, or stealing of pictures or other content is not allowed.[/QUOTE] The person being discussed on this thread was not a member until a breeder review was being conducted. This forum is a place where common bond is shared. If something doesn't make sense, it will be discussed and at times heatedly One thing that isn't tolerated is a person that uses their dogs to make a living..... |
and let's not forget the OP of this thread NEVER said the name of the "breeder". In fact she "outed" herself. Post #56 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...e-puppy-4.html |

Good Grief!!! Do they ever stop coming out of the woods joining YT to stand up for their bad breeding friends? LOL!!! It's just nuts! Everytime a bad breeder is exposed a train of new members come on YT to claim it's slander. They should just start their own website...Greeder Breeder Talk USA! Most unethical people will probably think Geeder is just a country way of saying Greetings...LOL!!! They all belong on that site not here! |

That was the BEST! LOL!!!:D |
