Sadly I have doubts about this being an accidental breeding. This OP posted in October about wanting to breed this dog and was given very good advise about the in's and out's of breeding and the benefits of spaying.

Just my opinion, but I've seen too many so called "accidental" pregnancies from OP's that previously posted asking about "how to breed", "when to breed", etc.

Anyway, I'll add this little dog to my prayers.

If she takes all the advice, then we'll know that it was an accident. For now I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt. Non breeders really are clueless as to how quik this can happen.

I agree... I happens...But with these little ones we all need to be extremely careful.

Did you notice she got this puppy when she was 6 1/2 weeks? I was shocked to read that.

Many people. They just don't know. I didn't know until I joined YT.

I agree with that, I thought the norm was 8 weeks, then thru much reading and educating myself I found out that for the benefit of the toy breeds puppies it was better for them to stay with mom until 12 weeks.
and then it was reiterated here. I still know a LOT of breeders that let their pups go at 8 weeks specially the larger breeds.

Yeah I wasn't aware of waiting until 12-14 weeks with the little ones until I joined a yorkie list. But I have always known 6 weeks for any breed is to young.

I got my first yorkie at 9 weeks and then my 2nd one, Pennie, at 8 weeks and she was so sick for so long.

For your information, I WAS wanting to breed her, and that's why I posted a blog about advice. I took the advice, and we decided that if it was possible to lose her life, then we werent. AND SECONDLY, I paid a lot of money for my precious dog, and there's no way that I'd take that risk in losing her! Also, if I was going to breed my dog, I sure as heck wouldn't breed it to the westie who I don't even know if it is full or what. Why would I spend lots of money on a C-section only to sell the puppies for $20 on the corner of the road? I came here for advice, not to be critized. Probably the last time I use Yorkie Talk. Thanks.

Oh, and one more thing....I shouldn't be critized because I got her at 6 wks! I didn't know that was too early, and I was just going by what the breeder said. Excuse me!! But I also know that I've taken care of her the best I could!

I apologize for those that were being critical about the age of your pup when you got her. Many others on YT got their pups at an early age for the very same reason you did - bad breeder advice.

I know you love your little girl and don't want to lose her, that is why I and the others here have advised you to have her spayed now.

I am so glad to see that you are still here. Most everyone is in agreement that it would be best for your girl to get spayed right away. I know there are always a few who seem to have to stir the pot and say things that will make you defensive. We are not all like that. what we ALL are is passionate about yorkies and I can see that you do love your girl and want what is best for her. I hope you can find it inside yourself to not let anyone drive you away and I hope you can stick around and learn some things here and have some fun and enjoy showing off your precious girl. I am sorry the "breeder" took advantage of you and allowed the health/well being of this pup to be jepordized by her/him's need for your money. Sometime people suck.

Now as for your little girl.
1. She is to young to have babies.
2. She is way to small to have Westie pups. (Westies are alot bigger than Yorkies and build like tanks.

I would suggest you speak to your vet and have her Spayed asap. You will be happier and so will she.

Also, suggest your room mate have his dog fixed. He shares in the blame here.

PS: Spaying is about $125
C section can be up to and maybe more than $1500.00!

ACK I am sorry! I wasn't being critical of YOU. Please, don't be so defensive. If you would read the other posts I said I didn't know any better until 3 months ago myself! I was criticizing the breeder for selling such a small puppy so young.

Honestly, I was only trying to help, and also make conversation by expressing my anger at breeders who send pups home so young. My Pennie was 8 weeks and that is even to young for these toy breeds and I ended up with a VERRRRRY sick puppy that almost died. I had to force feed her with a syringe for 5 weeks!

So please, I was not attacking you. It is very rare that people here attack others. Please stay with us, you wont be sorry...

I apologize also for my comments. I should not have judged you. I just honestly get very frustrated with the sheer number of people that come here to find out how to breed their pets, then don't post again after getting the very good advice to spay and neuter. Then the very next post will be "my dog is accidentally pregnant." I have 5 children, 4 of which are teenagers and I firmly believe in teaching them to take responsiblity for their actions and at the very least admit when they have made a mistake.

On the other hand, I DO realize that accidents will happen. If an unspayed female is in heat and a male is available, it takes very diligent watching on behalf of the owner to make sure the female does not get breed accidentally. Males dogs and females that are in heat can and will be EXTREMELY sneaky in their efforts to breed.

So to the OP I apologize for judging you based on your previous postings. I hope that you take the advice of the wonderful, knowledgable breeders here and have your baby spayed to spare her the possible trauma of pregnancy. There are too many mixed and full breed dogs in shelters now that are being euthanized on a daily basis.

I volunteer at a shelter in a neighboring county that has been forced to euthanize 36 dogs in the last few months. A few of them were purebred Chi's that were seized from a BYB that had such serious health issues that they were deemed unadoptable. It breaks my heart everytime I go there and see the same sad little dogs there week after week, knowing that their time is running out and I can't do anything about it.

I apologize to you and wish you the best with you dog.
