| Problem She had an xray that showed only 4. I did palpate some after I read your message. There doesn't appear to be another. Could there be a dead puppy in there? I do know she did not expel that last placenta. When I checked just now, I found a black tar thick discharge. That can't be normal either. I am waiting for a callback from my vet. HOWEVER, it's the things I learn here that help the most. I take my knowledge from here and share it with him...I'm hoping someone has a clue what is going on.

| Dark green to nearly black is normal for several days post whelping. Is she still shivering or does she seem more at ease now?

| Congrats on the new arrivals!! They are precious!! My Harmony had her pups (two girls) about 2 weeks ago. She sounds a lot like your girl. She had a false labor on X-mas day. 2 days later she had the first girl and then a whole 12 hours later she had her second girl. I've never had one go on that long, I was pretty nervous and worried but she wasn't stressed or anything. She also didn't pass either placenta so I took her in the next morning for an oxy shot. Later that day she passed a bit of black tar looking stuff that I assume was the placentas. She felt better right away and hasn't had any problems since. Maybe this is what your girl was passing?? Definitely take her to the vet in the morning to have them check her over and give her the shot to be safe. Keep an eye on her temperature. If it is running high she has an infection.

| Awesome Mom and pups are doing SO good. Those babies have latched on and are warm and happy. Momma's been eating good food and drinking her water. I slept next to them and checked through the night...but they did just great!!! My adrenaline is still kicking!
