| I am looking for advice from experienced breeders OTHER then who I am dealing with. I am looking for as many outlooks as possible understand it or not. If you don't have any advice for me, I'd rather not here what you have to say in the matter. Thank you to those of you who are actually concerned and giving advice and not ridiculing me for my decisions. |

| As I have previously mentioned, I was thinking about getting into breeding. I guess it just happened a little sooner then planned as do many things in life. My boyfriends yorkie was actually neutered December 23rd. It was not planned. He made his appt a month in advance but they accidentally tied Dec 17th. |

| So you don't understand what I'm lookng for. Well, I don't understand why so many people get so nasty on here when I am clearly indecisive and trying to make a decision based on expert advice, not from one person/ vet but from a few experienced professionals. If you can't understand that, I'm not interested in your input. |

I do hope you will listen to those here that have recommended spaying. If not, I wish you luck.

| I actually sought guidance from an ER vet thanks to the suggestion of someone on this site. Just sharing the feedback, If you actually do wish me luck, I appreciate that.. This is a very hard decision for me. |

| It would seem that she has done some more research since first posting yesterday. The more input the better I would think.

| First of all, I hope that you are able to make a decision either way as soon as possible for the safety of the mom and possible litter. I would like to tell you the story of the litter that I just had this year. It was a planned breeding and everything seemed to be going as normal. Please read it and know that I am sincere. I hope that you don't have to go through any of this if you decide to carry through with the pregnancy (if she is pregnant). Ellie had her babies on 11/14/09. Everything seemed to be going well. I was giving calcium and everything that I was suppose to be doing. Well, Ellie developed eclampsia. I found her stiff as a board and unable to walk. I rushed her to the ER vet where they were able to bring her out of it with calcium drip IV's. After that she could no longer nurse her litter. My husband and I had to hand feed the litter. It was terrible because we didn't get much sleep. Ellie had a hard time drying up. She finally did and the babies can eat now on their own, but it's something that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Are you prepared to possibly hand raise a litter if something happens to mom? Are you financially able to pay for the possible ER visits? These are just a few things to think about. I do wish you the best in what ever decision you make for your girl.

| Seems like you've made up your mind already. Are you just looking for affirmation that she should have them? |

| I would say it's probably not worth the risk of losing the mom for the possibility of puppies. Did the vet tell you when you'd have to make your decision by? Are vets able to look at puppies like they are at human babies and tell how big they estimate they will be? Maybe that will help make a better decision? Good luck!!! |

| Thank you TeddyBear and thank you Blanca for sharing your story. Yes they told me they would be able to determine if the pups are too big. This is all I can think about for the past couple of days and I think I will have her spayed for her well-being alone. I can't bare even the thought of something happeneing to her. Believe it or not, you've all had an influence on my decision and I am grateful to have found this site. I will keep you all posted in the days to come.... |

| My advice would have been to have her spayed ASAP as well as I truly feel that would be what was in HER best interest. However, you made it clear that's not what you're interested in, so I gave you what I thought is the next best option. I don't think anyone here as been 'nasty' with you...I just think that the answers you got were not the ones you were wanting. When you post up looking for advice, people are going to advise you on what they feel is best for your DOG...not what they think you want to hear. Seems like quite a few different members have posted the same advice, which I would think speaks for itself--but whether you take it or leave it is up to you. "I am looking for advice from experienced breeders OTHER then who I am dealing with. If you can't understand that, I'm not interested in your input." Sorry, but not the way it works on public forums. You can't control what is posted, you can only choose to ignore it. Likewise, people are only going to support what you are doing unless that is what they feel is best, not just because that's what you want them to do. All that being said, I truly do wish you and your girl the best, in whatever you decide and I am sorry that you are having to deal with these unplanned circumstances. |

| As said in previous posts by other posters (experienced breeders), as well as myself. The final decision is yours. You've stated that you wanted to get into breeding, it's not an easy endeavor......the preperation is not that easy. Bottom line; you need to look at every aspect of the situation and what should be at the forefront of your decision is your girl......and if you aren't prepared to give up 4 months of your life to devote to her and the litter, then I wouldn't proceed.
