I've had you in the back of my mind all this time. Somehow, I knew you'd feel this way. I was thinking that respectable/reputable breeders would be more concerned about maintaining the integrity of their lines than with potential profits.

Grrrrrr Irresponsible pet ownership, when are people going to learn. Then they wonder why so many Pet legislatures are put into place, the intention is to police people like this....but, it doesn't make any impact.

Not necessarily.....It can be done by knowing who you sell to and keeping track of your pups, making sure that your contract is adhered to.

More and more breeder exhibitors I know are keeping their pups longer and spay nuetering before they let them go. So, another cost handed down to those that want a pup

I just re-read what I wrote and it's not everything I meant to say. Sorry, this has just pushed my hot button today. I believe that the good breeders care deeply about their yorkies and any puppies they produce. I think this caring and concern comes (or should come) well before anything else for them.

I am curious though - why would a breeder go to the trouble of selling on limited registration and then not follow up with the new owner?

Good question. It could be the dam or sire that produced the litter was on a contract stating that all off spring produced would be sold on spay/nueter. The breeder fulfilled her end of the contract....sold on a limited registration, money received... tah dah........

That male should have been neutered a long time ago. No wonder alot of breeders are just spay or neutering there pups before they leave.

It is irresponsible when you purchase a dog on a limited registration and do not spay/nueter the dog.

So, there's much more to placing on limited registration than just marking that little box. It's up to the breeder to do follow up work, keep in contact with their families.....know who they're placing dogs with....a mutual trust.
My families always call me on the day of the spay/nueter to inform that all is well. That's not in my contract but because there is ongoing communication, it's just something they do.
