I don't know what you paid for your puppy, but she is beautiful, so I am assuming quite a bit. Considering that, in my opinion, your breeder owes you a substantial amount of money back. So sad that there are so many unethical folks out there. Good luck.

I always thought that you shaded the box on the AKC paper of the puppy if it was to be limited, so if I am not mistaken, you should have still got AKC paper.

Well, FINALLY did get papers. And dad is registered AKC. despite being told by the original (show) kennel that he was sold on Limited Registration. I guess you just don't know who you can trust or believe. Still don't think it should have taken this long, but honestly had I not been told that sire was sold on Limited Registration Papers I would not have been concerned. Have to wonder why that "Show Person" would lie.

Maybe it's me but I have to wonder about some of these show breeders. No offense believe me but How can a dog from a show kennel, end up being sold to a bad breeder, then rescued by another breeder to use as their stud in their kennel. I always thought that show breeders are more particular over where their dogs end up. Again, not trying to stir anything or knock show breeders, but I do think this is a legitimate question.

I think there is some breeding going on here that should not have happened. Now they are selling the pups to make money and giving all the owners the run around. The sire should have been neutered if he was to be sold limited. I would contact the breeder of the sire and let them know the info you have. Chances are if the sire was sold limited then there was a contract involved, hopefully, and maybe the breeder can go after the sire's owner.

Keep in mind there has been several discussions on YT since I have joined about how some puppy buyers are able to get around the restriction on the papers. AKC's registration system has a few wholes in it. Also, sometimes a breeder might forget to blacken out the square that indicates limited registration. Personally, I wish more people would just honor their contracts when they buy a dog. If the contract says limited registration then the puppy buyer should keep their word and not breed the dog anyway.

This is the first pup we bought. All mine have been rescues, so I am very green about ALL of this AKC, Limited, and loop holes with AKC. I have no idea who was being truthful and who wasn't. Just know that I finally did get my AKC papers today in the mail and that it shows daddy as being registered and shows his litter as registered. I have limited on my girl. Black box is checked off on mine with number. Although, we did not know that this would be the case at the time we bought her, I'm alright with it since we have no intentions on breeding her anyway. And, actually I'm happy the breeder is selling the pups on limited. Hopefully, prevents the pups from ending up in bad places

Hmmmmmmmm not sure how they got around that limited registration. Something seems not right with that.

I guess breeders need to hold the papers until the buyer produces proof of spay/neuter.

Well, I'm not sure if the sire was on limited registration. AFTER I bought my pup and contacted the the sire's ORIGINAL kennel for some information on him, THEY said he was sold on Limited, but I'm not sure if that was true or not true. The AKC papers I got in the mail today show no indication that that was the truth. It shows the sire as having full registration and his litter as being registered.

I'm so glad this worked out for you. And, I honestly hope that I didn't jump in front of you and get Saydee from Kelly when you may have been considering her. I thought you were only interested in Cosmo and the girl was still available or I wouldn't have inquired about her. You have been great. And I thank you for helping me make the connection with Kelly. Brooklyn is adorable and I think she will be a lot smaller than Saydee. Saydee is growing fast and I believe she may end up being a lot bigger than we originally thought. Doesn't matter, just more to love! Judy

Honestly, both Cosmo and Saydee were going to be too big for my girls. We were taking Cosmo because he was the smallest and kelly thought he'd be tiny, but then he had a huge growth spurt. Our girls are only 3.5 and 4 lbs. and we wanted to get one around the same size. Saydee is perfect for your family as Rylie is bigger. I'm so happy really that you have her. Hubby still says every time he sees her how beautiful she is. LOL. It worked out great for both of us. Ha, now I have the other exteme. Brooklyn is so tiny we have to watch the girls with her. Ha ha. The vet thinks she's only going to hit 2.5 lbs. full grown. EEK. TTy soon. E.
