We are in Labor!!!! Finally i finally decided to catch a nap and woke up to her panting....and she is shakinghard core...don't know when she started and she won't let me touch her so just wish us luck!!! |
I had a dog that did this once and never had contractions. We had to have an emergency c-section. I hope that this is it and that you have no problems. |
Good luck! |
Good luck! I am here cheering for her! |
good luck, wishing a safe quick whelp. |
how long will all this panting last before i see a pup? |
Has she tried to push any? |
no...not that i can see....just laying on her side, standing up, rolling on back,....but panting hasnt stopped and neither has her shivering |
Is she having contractions or pushing at all? If she is just panting and shaking it could be several hours yet. Once she starts pushing it should only be an hour or so. At least it is daytime so if you run into problems, it is easier to find your vet. Good luck, sweetie, you have had a long hard puppy watch and I wish you a safe and easy delivery, you deserve it and so does Mrs. Laynee. I will check this thread from work whenever I can to see how things are going. Audrey |
I am hoping it is not to long but it is hard to tell. |

im not gonna freak yet...ive only been up for 45 mintes soim gonna give her time. plus my vet opens in an hour and a half |
Can you tell if there is a pup right there in the birth canal? |
I have followed your other thread and wanted to let you know that we will keep you in our prayers. |
Can you get her to take a little Karo or something to boost her strength, she is probably more worn out after all this than you are and if she gets a boost it might help with all the shivering and shaking a little and she could settle down to the hard work ahead. |
Wishing you and Laynee a fast and safe whelping. hugs, Carmen in nj |
I hope the whelping goes smoothly and quickly for you |

Please sweetie, make sure these puppies are out today, whether naturally or by C-section, I don't know for sure because I am not there, but it is my opinion that your little girl has been in and out of labor for the last two days and I am very worried. I'm not criticizing your vet, I'm just telling you that not all vets work with many breeders and some don't have as much experience with the whole puppy thing as the long-time breeders do. I don't know if your vet actually saw your girl when she was contracting, squatting, panting, etc. I really want what is best for Laynee and I think that perhaps today is the day to get those puppies out of her. All my best to you. Audrey |

also do you have some chicken broth? if so she might take some in between pups, and is VERY good for her since she won't take the nutrical.. you can give it a shot too... my Taffy took the chicken broth better than my Chanel.. |
Mine likes vanilla icecream :) |
