| ![]() Hey Sarah, Just watch out. I'm from close to St louis and that is puppy mill central, there are alot alot of BYB. It sounds like that might be what he is since he is offering no vet care/shots/worming and at such a low cost at a young age. 5 weeks is right when they're starting to eat bythemselves and when the mom stops cleaning after them. Please read $500 yorkie puppy rescue on our post on the general section to see what we went through to save some puppies. I think a good breeder would MAKE sure she gave them those shots so she knows they got them instead of people who promise to. Just ask around, there are lots of good breeders around this site. Good luck! Cher |

| ![]() Sarah, I just wanted to add a bit. You can find a pet quality puppy for $500 from a caring breeder. It can be done as I have done it. Best of luck in your search for a pooch to call your own.

| ![]() Hi and welcome to Yorkie Talk!! So glad you found us and before you got the puppy too...that is great. I had luck with NextdayPets and Puppyfind.com but it was for my second yorkie so I knew what to look for and what to ask, etc. I would also try breeders.net as I found some wonderful breeders and my newest baby on there. Learn what to look for and what you should ask and what they should tell you. The breeder should spend a lot of time training you to care for the puppy and giving you it's history. You should speak to the vet too and use a Puppy Escrow if buying from a distance and having the puppy shipped. Someone on here may be willing to check out a breeder in their area if you find one. I have to say too that while StewiesMom is right that they are out there for that price, it usually costs a good breeder who gives the puppies and their mothers good care more than $500 to raise a puppy and get it ready to be adopted so, while it is possible to find a good breeder at that price, it will probably take a while. Yorkies are in high demand and good breeders usually have waiting lists for their babies. Antother idea would be to find a good breeder now and make payments so you can afford to spend a little more to insure a healthy well cared for puppy from a healthy mom and home. Good luck. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() Wow Kristy - GOOD WORK helping find information on that Breeder - If I were looking for a yorkie and saw THAT on the net I would stay CLEAR of that breeder - I also agree - NEXT DAY PETS have many questionable Ads - be very careful there - it's too easy to get scammed on the net. |

| ![]() I am looking for anyone that I can talk to about brushy creek kennel. This is the first time I've been on here and found you guys on google. Looking for bad breeders. The perosn everyone is talking about (DAWN) she does not run that kennel. I know I have been in and out of that kennel now for almost a year. I have purchased several dogs from there and agree with everyone. But not anyone has ever been beyond the front. I have spent several hours in the kennels where all the dogs are kept and you wouldnt believe. I am wanting to put a stop to this place on importing all these puppies into the united states. I dont see how he can import all these sick puppies here. EVERYONE DID KNOW THAT 95% OF HIS PUPPIES ARE IMPORTED AND NOT WHELPED ON AMERICAN SOIL? AND THATS WHY THEY ARE SO SICK. TESSIE |

After MY visit there - I contacted and emailed everyone I could about them - ....the Police...the ASPCA...and many many other people - I emailed their City Hall and any Humble TX agency I could find on the net. A man named DAVID runs that kennel right ? For MORE reading about this terrible Kennel go here - http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...breeders+texas | |

| ![]() Not only does David run the kennel but he owns the kennel. He travels to Ireland 3 times a month to purchases puppies(sick puppies) I dont understand how he is allowed to bring sick puppies into the United States without being quarintined. Especially, when your bringing in so many. I have prrchased several westies from him since Feburary and had to fight to recieve my papers from him. I still have'nt recieved one set and my puppy is 8 months old. I will be taking him to small claims court he owes me lots of money. Anything that I can do to help please let me know. I know first hand his operations. He also does his own spaying and neuteing. He also de-barks his owns dogs. I have been back in his kennels several hours by myself snooping around and the things I saw. For some reason he trusted me. ANd now he's screwing me. tessie |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() that makes me sick. I heard horror stories and it's great that you're warning people - have you reported him also to the BBB and any other agencies ? Those people were NASTY when I was there - When I saw the puppy they brought out I could tell it was ill and I was almost physically sick - By the time I got home - I was on a rampage to report them but had no real claims because we left without a puppy....there was no way I was getting one from there after what I saw. THIS IS A GREAT REASON it's VERY GOOD to visit these places in person !!! When I was emailed Pictures and told THIS is the puppy they were going to sell to me - I was NOT shown that puppy in person and it was 2 hours after they sent me the pictures - We hopped in the car and drove like maniacs out there - When we got there - they showed me a totally different little puppy - not the same age - not the same looks ...not HEALTHY ! It REALLY is better to be able to visit these breeders IF YOU ARE ABLE. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() tessie...I'm so sorry for your problems with Brushy Creek Kennels - that's why people call them Shady Creek - you should start your own thread about the experience you had with these people - we have MANY Texans always looking for puppies on this site ....PLUS people buy off the net and Brushy Creek SHIPS - Can you start a thread telling people what happened with them ? It really helps for those looking at that Kennel in Texas - I wish someone would shut them DOWN ! |

| ![]() I would stay away from him. A breeder who can't take the time or the expense of making sure the pups have all their shots isn't worth a dime to me. I'm sure you can find a pup in your price range. Just take your time, and you'll find one. |
