Hi and welcome to Yorkie Talk!! So glad you found us and before you got the puppy too...that is great.

I had luck with NextdayPets and Puppyfind.com but it was for my second yorkie so I knew what to look for and what to ask, etc. I would also try breeders.net as I found some wonderful breeders and my newest baby on there.

Learn what to look for and what you should ask and what they should tell you. The breeder should spend a lot of time training you to care for the puppy and giving you it's history. You should speak to the vet too and use a Puppy Escrow if buying from a distance and having the puppy shipped. Someone on here may be willing to check out a breeder in their area if you find one.

I have to say too that while StewiesMom is right that they are out there for that price, it usually costs a good breeder who gives the puppies and their mothers good care more than $500 to raise a puppy and get it ready to be adopted so, while it is possible to find a good breeder at that price, it will probably take a while. Yorkies are in high demand and good breeders usually have waiting lists for their babies.

Antother idea would be to find a good breeder now and make payments so you can afford to spend a little more to insure a healthy well cared for puppy from a healthy mom and home.

Good luck.
