| I think this is it, no temp. dropping!? I have a 62 day pregnant rescue, well she is closer to being 63 days... Her water broke around 8PM today & the "bubble" has appeared. The funny thing is, her temp is the same as its been!? She is vey restless & wants to go out to potty every 5-10 minutes. She is also nesting. Her labor seems almost backwards!! I'm going to be on a puppy watch...

| How did you know her water broke? What did it look like? Earlier this evening I found a puddle that I thought was urine but it did not smell of urine. It was kind of a big puddle, could that have been her water. She has been really clingy not real unusal, not really restless and temp has been around 98 all day. I am not really sure of her due date as she was adopted from the animal shelter and we found out 2 weeks ago she is pregnant. Had x-rays and the vet thinks she has 3 pups. We think she is about 60 days. Good luck with your pups. |

| I'm almost 100% sure it was her water. It was a big puddle, & it was kind of greenish yellow in color. She is now shaking & nesting. I think this is it...

My Tahlulah had her bubble burst inside of her at 04:30 a.m. I heard it pop, with water flowing onto my bed. However, she had her first pup at 07:15 a.m. Since she'd been having strong contractions for about 45 miniutes, I was getting a bit worried and about ready to get her into the vets, since I knew I had 4 hours from the time the bubble popped to get that pup into the world before complications would set in.....when her first pup presented itself head facing up (true breech baby) , we assited her by gently pushing on her legs with each contraction, once the head was completely out, hubby gently turned the pup so, the head was facing down....out popped the pup, but dry with the placenta still attached. The next one was born an hour later, pup born without the sack, but placenta attached......an hour later, the 3rd, hind legs first, but still in the sack.

| Forgot to mention, her temp may be dropping because she's going into shock......Something that needs to be watched carefully during the whelping process, to make sure it doesn't drop below 97 degrees......sure sign that something is wrong.

| Thank you, Mardelin. I used to show Pomeranians back in the day, but only whelped one litter... She had 2 puppies around 10 AM & 12 PM today...both are healthy weights- the male is 5 ounces & the female is 6 1/2 ounces...the male was breech & had to be helped out, no sack though?! Bianca is a rescue I have who was given up 3 weeks ago from her former owners who irresponsibly bred her & then decided that they did not want to deal with pups...I am keeping her as my pet after she is spayed. Her two pups, Conrad & Joelle, will be placed up for adoption once they're 12-16 weeks of age.

With the one I mentioned above, hearing the pop and then water coming out....I had been doing alot of research about problem deliveries....and the discription of what was going on with my girl was text book. It told me that she had 4 hours to deliver that first pup.....she did it it about 3...I was getting scared.....But, when that 2nd one was born out of the sack....I thought back to when I heard the pop, there had been alot of water.....so, both sacks popped internally.
