| I think some of you guys are being a little unfair to Urbanalbino and definitely jumping to conclusions. Her family has a well known kennel in my area and I have 2 of their dogs. I am beyond satisfied with my Yorkies from them and might I add passed all vet inspections one has been breed and came off with flying colors as well as her offspring. One of my Yorkies from them is 5 years old and still in excellent health including patellas. They don't breed with any dogs other than champion status and are fanatical about the health of the parents. They didn't hop on the Biewer bandwagon to make a bunch of money because Biewers go for twice as much as Yorkies. This girl loves Biewers, thinks they are beautiful, and wants to own one of her own. Who said that she wasn't going to research or ensure the breeding quaility of her new puppy??? When I became interested in Biewers I spent hours upon hours reading the forums and acquainting myself with the Biewer network and researching the clubs, breed, and its origins and hours on the phone with Biewer breeders who were willing to extend themselves and exerptise to educate me in addition to my research. Urbanalbino has done the exact same thing. Her mother has breed Yorkies for 18 years and responsibly I might add. I know because I have checked her out thoroughly and have been in touch with her ever since I got a dog from her kennel and personally toured it. I post things on this forum looking for answers to questions that I have and comparing notes with other breeders and I consider it a great resource. Most people have more experience on here than me but if I can at all add my 2 cents to someone that has an issue I do. This forum has a reputation of getting nasty with breeders with less experience than others. I had left the forum and came back and was happy to see that I was able to post freely without being attacked as it had happened to me in the past. When readers or breeders are offended then they leave the forum and why would you want to chance that over jumping to conclusions when you could be helping someone that IS trying to better the breed and you could contribute to that? What is the alternative to good advice on YT? Trial and error? I hope that you will take this into consideration instead in future posts. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I am always willing to answer any questions about the Biewers either by PM, email or telephone. My carpal tunnel makes it difficult to type long answers but I think the poster coming to the forum to ask questions is part of the process of doing research. I do believe that with a new variation it is critical for the safe health of these dogs to be very involved with other Biewer breeders. In fact it is not so political on some of the Biewer forums as it is on YT and there are many people willing to help if you ask. It really is sad but these wonderful dogs are already ending up in puppy mills and in very poor breeding situations.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I would hope that since a female for breeding purposes had been purchased....the "research" had already been done.

| Rachel obviously with your Mother's experience in breeding and expertise you have the actual principles and practices of breeding covered. All you need to do is research the breed further by familiarizing yourself with its origins & health issues, look into what the clubs have to offer, and decide how you want to register your dogs once they arrive. You have plenty of time. You are doing the right thing. Stick to networking with people who are willing to mentor you in the process. You won't have any problem finding breeders to work with you and answer your questions. Don't worry about those who get nasty or those who are territorial about their club. |

| Let me clarify to make sure that I don't upset anyone. First and foremost before any of the checklist of things that I mentioned in my previous post directly above this Urbanalbino you would want to ensure the quality of the dog for breeding and have the female cleared by a vet for breeding. I did not mention that because I am familiar with your family's breeding practices and I didn't want to tell you something that you are well aware of. But these posts are read by many others that might search them at a later time and I would hope that the breeding quality of the dog they are considering breeding would be their primary concern. |

| Hello, I would like to clear some things up that have been said about me: 1. I DO NOT sell Holiday pups--those pics are of my own personal Pets and Breeding Stock and are NOT for Sale. Teacups I do have on occasion but do not breed for them! 2. I am a Licensed Breeder, in the state of Pa. anyone who sells or owns more than 26 dogs in a year has to be Licensed.--so what is wrong with being Legal??? How many other Breeders go Legal????? 3. I sell the same Biewers as any of the BBCA members and actually have the same lines and bought from the same kennel in Germany as Dee and other BBCA members! I also persomally visited Mrs Biewer in Germany at her Home and would never taint this Wonderful Breed in any way and do strive to produce Quality pups and yes I like the look of the Baby Doll Faces!! I also do DNA all of my Stock and do Testing! I am by far NOT a Puppy MILL and would be glad to provide references from Vets and lots of HAPPY customers to anyone. As far as buying from BTCA members or BBCA members I think it is unfair to point fingers at any as we ALL love the Breed but all clubs have thier own beliefs and should be trying to get along as Adults! 4. Yes My Husband and I are owners of Lebanon Valley Cycles a Motorcycle Dealership and am Proud of our Sattisfied Customers since 1978. If you need any other Info about me or my Kennel feel free to ask but please don't Jump to conclusions and Judge me as a Breeder!!! Thanks, Deb Sidle-Xtreme Pups |

Thank you Deb. All of those who belong to any of the clubs who love this breed do DNA, LS testing, OFA, CERF and Brucellious (sp?) testing before breeding. I do because it is important to be breeding healthy parents to have healthy puppies. I hope the OP finds the puppy/s of her dreams. Last edited by scrapindee; 08-28-2009 at 09:48 AM. |
