Oh Elyse................good luck to you and Roxie! I read every word you wrote and photo-copied it in my mind for when Halle begins her labor; I think her time is getting close. I will think about you all day & say some prayers for a safe whelp of a healthy puppy for Roxie. I'm at work, but will be sneaking back on here for news off and on during the day for sure. Hugs.

Don't let the money scare you from not going to the vet. Worry about that later.

I've never had one cry out, either, with one exception and that was just as the pup was being born. The leg thing is concerning, too. I hope the OP is at the vet's now as this doesn't sound like a normal whelp to me. I've never had a singleton but this just doesn't sound right.

THIS! Heck if it comes down to it I'll send money to help pay the vet bill.

I don't even know how to say this..

she started really pushing and it happened really fast, the bubble appeared and the baby practically flew out. She had the membranes off quick and I tied/cut the umbilical cord but the puppy wasn't moving. I cleared its airways, rubbed it, even did the downward swing and nothing would make it take a breath. I worked on that puppy for almost an hour even though I knew it was pointless but I just couldn't stop..

I just can't stop crying. I feel like such a failure, I failed Roxie and I failed this sweet little boy. I don't understand. He looks perfect. I felt him kicking just a few minutes before he was born and he came out dead. He weighed just a hair under 4 ounces.

I am sorry. This is always hard. Try to console your momma, let her mother stuffed animals if she wants. Poor dear.

I also would take momma to the vet for a check up, make sure everything is ok with her. She is going to need you now.

She looks so lost. I don't know what to do with the boy. I just stopped working on him a few mins ago and Roxie thinks he is alive, she is trying to lick him and get him to nurse. What could have made him die in the short time of him coming out? I am at a loss, I can't believe this..
