It really is not nearly as bad as it sounds. They let out a tiny little yip and that is it. None of mine seemed to let it phase them at all. With the super glue on the ends, no infections or bleeding and they heal so fast. The way mine are always sneaking through an open door, I am glad there is no long tail to get caught behind them. I am sure they adjust though and long tails are beautiful too. I just prefer the AKC standard look. That is what I fell in love with and waited years to have. I certainly understand the opposite view though. With or without a tail, there is nothing like a Yorkie!

| Congrats! I would like to learn how to do this as well. Because I moved recently and had to go through the whole find a vet thing. (My mentor breeder use to dock tails for me in the past) I called Banfield Vets in my area and they wanted to charge me $330 to dock tails and declaws for TWO puppies! I told the office manager there that was the most insane price quote I had ever heard. What a rip off for those who have paid that much or even close to that much! |

Even if you had 4 puppies that would be a lot but for 2 puppies only sound like a rip off to me too. | |
