| someone in nursery needs help!!!!!!!! YorkieTalk Newbie! My female is due to have her puppies her temp was at 99.7 on thursday night 99.3 on wednesday night and now today her temp is 98.3. I know that the temp will go down when she is ready with in 12 hours but i dont know why her temp is low and keeps going lower this is not her first litter. Her temp has always when down but not over a period of 3 days. All she wants to do is sleep right now and she is not digging in her box. i copied and pasted this from the Nursery. it was written by YorkieDad |

| I've had girls go up and down for days. If you were only taking the temp at night then took it this AM, she is most likely in early labor as most of the females I've had read down to the low 99's until when labor starts. It's goes into the 98's. If it drops lower than 98 I would get worried about shock and contact the vet. As for the sleeping all the time, with a normal labor, they will go through periods of heavy sleep and be restlessness when awake. Some of mine don't even nest until right when the puppy is coming out. I do hope everything is going OK since I didn't see this when it was first posted. |
