| Boy, threads like this do intimidate me somewhat. I have thought about what I want to do when I retire(still 10+years away) I've always thought that decorative painting would be all I need to do....until I got my Krystal. I have fallen so deeply in love with her, I would love to have a part of her in a puppy that she produced. One, I didn't pay for breeding rights. Two, she's so small now I don't think that she'll reach the 5 pound mark that I had mentally marked as a minimum for safety. Three, having to be retired to have the time to dedicate to raising puppies. It has been a reoccurring thought to breed Yorkies in my retired years. Who knows it may happen. I read on this forum every evening before going to bed. A couple of these threads seem almost vicious so I honestly don't post alot of questions. I haven't been a target, but I guess I'm too new and some of my questions have few answers. Quote:
wrong size/shape. But I know that I have plenty of reading and time to gain that knowledge. So I hope that breeders here won't be discouraged from posting with their knowledge. It is up to us readers to decide for ourselves, not for others, and not to judge. Opinions should always be welcome. It's a backbone of our society. | |

![]() I just came across this thread and I am horrified by this comment. I am so upset reading it that I am shaking. How can anyone think this is ok? How can you expect not to be judged by your actions? That doesn't even make sense. We are all judged by what we do and say. You can defend your right to breed these little ones all you want but the prices both of you are charging are directly related to their size - and you know it. Neither of you show your dogs or claim to have more than average vet bills for your girls delivering so why are you charging $5000.00 for a puppy? $$$$$$ ![]() To the OP - I think you'll find that the majority of members that have been here awhile will agree that breeding females under 5 pounds isn't recommended. I think if some of the long time breeders were to come on here they would also say that there are some exceptions - but that they look at the entire picture when breeding. I really hope that people viewing or new members don't think this is ok. It just breaks my heart to think that someone would breed little ones of this size. I think if people want an animal the size of a mouse - that they should go get a mouse! And that's my opinion
