The whole "parti" thing?

I think some of the parti yorkies and biewers are very pretty but it seems like most of the ones I have seen pictures of appear to have cottony coats. Are there lines out there in the parti yorkies and the biewers that have the true silky coats that are cool to tough and really reflect the light?

As far as Parti's go, I find it interesting that there were only a couple of Parti breeders 5 years ago and now there's over 30??? It seems that 100's of Yorkies have all of the sudden become Parti carriers, when for 100's of years you rarely saw a Yorkie with any amount of white on it that did not go away with age.

Another thing about Parti's I find interesting is that 5 years ago they looked liked a poorly bred Yorkie that was all washed out, scraggly hair, bad coat texture..... and now they have beautiful thick coats and don't resemble a Yorkie at all in structure. How can a color gene totally change the bone structure of a dog?????

Ditto that!! Most of the parti's I have seen have Easty-Westy ears and just dont have the Yorkie structure/conformation of the correct Yorkie. Most look to me like poorly bred Yorkies that you see in pet quality Yorkies. And they do have cottony coats, much like a Shih-Tzu. They seem to be getting better over the years as I am sure better quality Yorkies are now being bred into the parti lines.

Thanks guys! Livi is absolutely rotten because of that cute face...she gets away with ANYTHING! She truly is the boss around here.

I do remember RubenO and his adorable dogs. It was fun seeing the pictures that he would post.

I can state my opinions about partis just as you can. Last time I heard, freedom of speech was still allowed in this country. YOU were the one getting all defensive about YOUR dog which I never even mentioned in MY post. So what was your statement/attack even about. My post didnt even pretain to you or your dog personally. And you all didnt get defensive when Pruitt made a blanket statement. I find that a personal attack on me

I personally wouldn't own one, a lady down the street from me has one and she is just a walking fault! My neighbor paid a "back-yard breeder" $3750 for an all white parti...that's like two months of mortgage payments! She had a guarantee on her to be "able" to breed...three years later, here's an intact grown 3 year old female who's only had one "Split" heat in her life...she has an underbite, incorrect coat(it's curly & cottony) and she is terrified of people other than her owner and dogs and cats.

That is my reason for why I'm never buying a Parti Yorkie...a Yorkie is a Yorkie...not a Parti. I am partial to the traditional blue & gold Yorkies...not the faulty can't be shown white Parti's. Sorry to any Parti owners, but you'll never be able to convince me to own one.

Um......have you taken a look around you at standard colored yorkies? I think even the breeders that are anti-parti would agree that many, if not most pet yorkies fall well below the standard, without being parti colored. Having one neighbor with a very genetically flawed parti yorkie should hardly give you reason to believe they are all like that. Pretty much anyone that buys a dog from a puppy mill is going to end up with the same problems as your friend there, regardless of breed or color of dog.
