I really think more reading is needed. The biewer has been proven it's a breed of it's own, and they do dna tests on every dog(the btca does), they have been shown to have papillon in them and like 2 or 3 other breeds. Some lines have chihuahuas and some lines have shih tzus, none of our lines do. And, Mr and Mrs Biewer didn't own shih tzus, the President of the BTCA is close/personal friends with Mrs Biewer.

If there is such variation between lines how can there be a breed standard?

The Biewers NEVER raised Shih Tzu's nor did they have a web site that you could have seen. If you want to present facts about the Biewers go the Biewer Terrier Club of America, Inc. and read what is said about the Biewer breed.

As far as Parti's go, I find it interesting that there were only a couple of Parti breeders 5 years ago and now there's over 30??? It seems that 100's of Yorkies have all of the sudden become Parti carriers, when for 100's of years you rarely saw a Yorkie with any amount of white on it that did not go away with age.

Another thing about Parti's I find interesting is that 5 years ago they looked liked a poorly bred Yorkie that was all washed out, scraggly hair, bad coat texture..... and now they have beautiful thick coats and don't resemble a Yorkie at all in structure. How can a color gene totally change the bone structure of a dog?????

While doing research on puppyfind I came across this ad under the Biewers “Parti-Yorkie” male for sale and she said he is a male Biewer. When I emailed to question why she is calling him a “Parti-Yorkie and Biewer, this was her response.

Sorry for any confusion. If you go to www.aprpets.com (this is APRI registry whom cody is registered with), his paper work states as breed "registered yorkshire terrier" color blk,white tan,biewer colors. Both of his parents are biewers BUT he was born state side and when I registered him through this registry the biewers are not reconized here in the US. SO when any offspring out of this mom and dad are born ( this was the first time) they are called "yorkshire terrier" with parti markings and thus I crop their tails.
This can be verified through the registry. AS you have seen I sell my puppies for pets not nessarly for breeding Hope this help, Sounds like he is not what your looking for Have a great day!

I found this very disturbing not only for reputable breeders here who are trying to establish the Biewer but also wonder what the Parti breeders feel about this type of breeder? Now I can understand why YTCA is so upset and the reputable Yorkshire Terrier breeders.

You're mistaken on whose site you saw. There is and was no "orginal" website owned by the Biewers. Mr. and Mrs. Biewer showed and bred yorkshire terriers. The first tri colored puppy was born in 1984. Mr. Biewer died in 1997 and his wife discontinued their breeding program shortly thereafter.

Change in bone structure?? I can only speak for my own situation, but I do not agree with your statement. I personally own a parti colored Yorkie and she looks all Yorkshire Terrier in her structure. Livi is five and a half pounds and very square/cobby.

I have to agree with Tammy on this one...Although I "disagree" and "oppose" breeding for Parti's they are called Yorkshire Terriers and do look like them except for the color and are and can be exactly structure correct. Tammy you know I love ya hon!

As far as structure and type of parti yorkie....I too own a parti male who IMO...is all yorkie in both looks and temperament.

Here is Livi...it's tough to tell from photos, but she her structure is very square.
