| New to breeding... Hello everyone, My boy Rocco is now about 21 months old and I believe he's ready to breed. He's a 5.5lb AKC registered male. Any suggestions, links, would be appreciated. I want to stud him the right way and I can't think of a better way to start then getting advice from you guys. Thanks in advance. Last edited by rpx13; 03-31-2009 at 01:40 PM. |

| The best way to start is by having all the neccessary medical/genetic testing done on him and to have him evaluated to see how he measures up to the standard for the breed. Then, you go from there, armed with this information, in search of someone with a female seeking stud service. |

Breeding just because you can, is never a good reason. If you have a quality male that has proven himself in the ring to his quality, reputable breeders will be coming to you. Banging a pair of Yorkies together to produce puppies for the pet market is not a good reason to breed, IMHO. | |
