New to breeding... Hello everyone, My boy Rocco is now about 21 months old and I believe he's ready to breed. He's a 5.5lb AKC registered male. Any suggestions, links, would be appreciated. I want to stud him the right way and I can't think of a better way to start then getting advice from you guys. Thanks in advance. |
Before you decide to breed first and formost do your research.. a good web sit to use is Whelping Puppies, Breeding Dogs and Menu on Demand.. Please let me know if it works out for you. have you found a female yet? Mary |
The best way to start is by having all the neccessary medical/genetic testing done on him and to have him evaluated to see how he measures up to the standard for the breed. Then, you go from there, armed with this information, in search of someone with a female seeking stud service. |

Breeding just because you can, is never a good reason. If you have a quality male that has proven himself in the ring to his quality, reputable breeders will be coming to you. Banging a pair of Yorkies together to produce puppies for the pet market is not a good reason to breed, IMHO. |
