I would also say when someone makes a mistake we should or I SHOULD (need to be clear on my post now) forgive and always give another chance but I think if it was multiple times then something is wrong and I would agree that I would not consider her a reputable breeder and what she has done is wrong. I don't think giving your experiences with breeders destroys their reputation, I think it gives options. I judge for myself, I wouldn't let anyone tell me what to think, but if the proof is there and it has been more than one time, I think I can draw my own conclusion:( |

Actually it does reflect on what kind of breeder she is. Not only breeder, but an education yorkie owner. Even if she was helping someone shipping to petstores. I think it also says alot about a person supporting or defending those selling/shipping puppies to petstores. This has already been discussed.... |

I suppose if it were me in her situation, I would have offered to sell the dogs for my friend if she didn't want to hassle with the whole process, so that way they could have at least been able to go to pre-screened good homes. Although that would almost make her a broker, she could have explained that she had saved them from going to a petstore. I recently ripped into someone prematurely on craigslist because they had three 4 week old puppies that they were going to rehome in a couple of weeks. They said they got them from a pet store, and I thought they bought them at a pet store which is illegal in MI to sell a pup under 8 weeks, and I thought it seemed fishy. Turns out, they were dropped off at a petstore, and this lady rescued them, was taking care of them till they were alittle bigger and stronger, then finding good homes instead of letting them go to anyone. Glenda could have done something similar instead of letting them go to a pet store. Just makes it seem like she does not have the best interest of animals in mind. I am sure she has beautiful dogs that are probably healthy and all that since she seems to care about her quality and her lineage, but I don't know that she cares about the dogs themselves so much as she does her own personal recognition as a breeder, if that makes sense. |

Wow, I just read all 18 pages of the other thread... I'm almost speechless. Almost... I am actually beyond shocked to see how many people vehemently defended someone who admitted to sending young puppies multiple times to a pet store. Those are the facts straight from her mouth. The justification is they weren't her puppies, and she didn't do it for profit... Well, so what! I bet those poor puppies she sent didn't care if she was their breeder or if she took money- they still ended up in a pet store.:( I am horrified to see people- yorkie lovers- defending this. |

And this is why I don't get involved in the breeding section anymore LOL...better to be quiet and read and only respond to other threads than to be crucified and hung out to dry....I have my standards as a breeder and if someone inquires with me and I don't think your the right person I refuse to place and I'm sure there are many that wouldn't want a pup from me because of my standards and requirements but that's quite ok with me :) Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

The fact of the matter is people have a right to say I wouldn't support this breeder because I don't agree with her actions. They have a right to say I wouldn't turn hard earned money over to her for a puppy because they disagree with actions she has taken. We have a right to support or not support a breeder, business, person, etc... when we don't agree with their actions, practices, etc.... Thank goodness we still have the right to do that! I'm sure she has beautiful dogs and puppies, I tend to think most dogs and puppies are beautiful, that isn't the point for me personally. The point for me is we have choices and I hope that people will make informed, educated choices and do what you feel is right and what you are comfortable with. Any type of dealings with pet stores can be a very black or white issue with alot of people and I'm comfortable with saying it is for me! |

I hate it when people think they are the only ones with a voice, we all have one whether we agree or not. (not referring to anyone just agreeing with that statement) |
