Again, I do not believe your baby looks like a blue from the photos in your Albulm. Maybe you could post some better photos! |
Hi, elyfuen! Could you ask Chloe's breeder what color she was born? As you can see in my 2 fotos, my pups were born grey/fawn : http://img22.echo.cx/img22/9935/cach...inza0011vf.jpg Later, my ''blue/brown'' pups turned brown as you can see here: no health problems, 100% healthy :) only sparse short hair. http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/654...20050082ck.jpg diagnostic: color dilution alopecia (CDA), no cure. |
4 Attachment(s) Here's a recent pic of Hippo our blueborn. He is 1 year & 4 months old & a healthy little guy!! As you can see in his photos he has very 'skimpy' hair. His skin seems to get oily & makes him feel 'greasy' at times~but with frequent bathing~it makes a huge difference & he feels soft again. He has virtually no hair on his ears, nose & fronts of his legs or back of his tail. ~Makes for easy grooming!! :O He is always full of energy & very helpful rounding up our chickens & goats!! He is so comical to watch as every morning he runs so fast~like a little wind-up toy~around our entire property clearing out the 'vermin' that don't belong there!! ie. wild rabbits & squirrels!! & He only barks if he sees something. He is a sweet little guy & we love him to bits!! Another thing that makes him unique ~ is that he has longer legs than his mom & dad & is very lean. He uses his arms to wrap around you when you are holding him~like a little monkey!! It feels like he's hugging you!! We all baby him~he is very special to us & we are enjoying every moment with him!! |
4 Attachment(s) Yorkshire Blue adult I can not write English so I used a translator, sorry. I bought a female baby, with the normal black and fawn coloring and five months she was already on the back and silver with 1 years old she had already perdito the coat ears and a strip on the back and then were falling all over coat, sometimes grows back, but soon fall. Veterianrios linger to find out here in Brazil, we treat as dermetite, fungi, etc ... and then discovered that she has hypothyroidism. She had a litter now and one baby was born blue and then confirmed that relamente my dog the "Pink" is a true blue tbm! She is now 5 years old, is very saudadevel even with all of the missing. Usually a month or two prior to the heat by growing, but fall later. BUT IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND EVEN SO MUCH LOVE! Now I hope your baby is healthy as well as the mother. See the photos ... |
I just had a blue born yesterday, and was so darned excited to see such a unique colored puppy!:D Now, after reading some of the effects this can possibly have on him, all excitement is gone. :( He was born in a litter of 5, and is 2nd largest of all. So far he is thriving, and doing wonderful... but it has only been about 36 or so hours. My little guy does not have black points at all, but is fair on the nose and feet too. I see some have had no health or hair issues at all, however some do? I've tried to read this entire thread, but it's sooo long, and so many not so useful posts from people just curious. I'm wondering if someone can point me to a breeder or two that have raised these little guys with some successful results? Yes, I want to know the bad too... but I would really like to remain as positive as possible. He's so adorable, and I don't want to be told to put him down just because he's the wrong color. That's just mean in my opinion. :( I'd be considered a runt myself, but no one thought to put me out of my misery for it. I don't feel being unique or different automatically means a bad thing. Is this wrong? |
blue born... 1 Attachment(s) ok... trying this pic thing again, since it didn't work the first time. |

Thank you, I've already PM'd her. Unfortunately her blue boy isn't quite the same. Her little guy seems to have a darker coat, black nose, and feet... where my little guy is fair colored everywhere. No black or dark points at all. |
Hi, your baby looks just as Mack did when he was born.....I will attach a pic, but there are also lots of pics of him in my albums. First and most important....STOP READING THE INTERNET! Your little guy has a chance! I have had a fair amount of experience since Mack was born with blues. There are currently 2 other blues that have made it to a year old that I follow. Mack turned TWO, yes I said TWO :) in February!!! He is an amazing little guy who has fought hard to be here! He currently has NO health problems, however he lives a very sheltered life. I most likely could talk to you in person (phone) much faster than I could type everything. Most importantly right now, do not be discouraged! please! There is HOPE, I promise! I will PM you my phone#! |
1 Attachment(s) oops! heres a pic! |

haha... ok, I will stop now. :p Yes, now that I see Mack as a baby... he does look like mine. I only saw Macs slightly older pics, and noticed right away that he had a dark nose. I've been going crazy researching, and reading all day. I would love to chat further, and can call you when ever is good for you. The first thing I found, was probably the first for you too? Some AKC breeder stating all of these wrong colored pups should be put down asap. Poppy cock... is what I say to that! He's perfectly healthy, and doing just fine. Why would anyone intentionally kill a perfectly healthy puppy? Because he's the wrong color, or unique, or is it jealousy maybe? That's just cruel & nasty thinking IMO. She's probably never had one, so doesn't want anyone else to either. Just because he's no good for the ring, or shouldn't be used for breeding... he's still a live breathing being, and deserves a chance. I'm pretty sure she has a few flaws of her own (one being a very obvious personality flaw) ...but no one had her put to sleep for it. Yeash! I understand AKC show breeders wanting only perfect show dogs, that fit the standard. However not everyone shows their dogs. I don't, and don't care if my dogs are perfect to them or not. They are perfect in my eyes, and that's all that matters. These standards are meant for the show ring, not for your average pets... which is what he will be, providing he makes it of course. |
((((Kendra)))) You rock! |
