| Can this be a sign of pregnancy? Hi all! I bred my girl 3 times last week. This would be her first pregnancy if it takes. I am really close with this little girl, we cuddle daily and I know her body pretty well. Is is total nonsense to say that her boobies are changing as a sign of pregnancy? They are firmer and longer. I also see little fatty spots (or deposits) under where her lowest 2 'nips' are. I am not the only person who has noticed this change. Can this be taken as a sign of pregnancy? Thanks for any responses. |

| The nipples do get harder when pregnant and also in a false pregnancy. I have 1 girl who was tied twice and got pregnant and the other girl tied 4 times and had a false pregnancy. So it is really hard to say. The girl who did get pregnant, didn't show until her 6 week and had pregnancy confirmed by ultrasound at the Vet. You'll just have to wait and see. When she is around 45 days take her to get ultrasound to confirm. If not, you'll go crazy wondering "is she or not". Good Luck! |

| Pee on a stick I am so sorry, but I have to ask: How is it that there hasn't been a simple doggy pregnancy test marketed yet? |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I normally can't tell until 40 to 45 days in. The area right under her last rib....normally goes "IN". When pregnant...mine start to fill in the gap right there first. Mine get the little lumps under there breasts when they are in heat. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Maybe she's PG, maybe she's not. I think that if she was just bred last week, it'd be a bit soon for any signs at all. A female's teats will get larger/more prominent while they are in heat as well as an enlarged vulva. The teats will remain that way & change due to milk production (later in the pregnancy) if she did get pregnant. When I had a pregnant female, the first sign I saw was what was morning sickness, then at about 3 1/2- 4 weeks after the first tie, I suspected a change in the firmness of her belly. Palpitation of her belly by our vet a few days later confirmed my suspicions. She was indeed PG & had 4 pups! We did an xray 1 week before the pups were due.

| O.K. I will just wait a while to see. It does make sense that these changes I notice are from her heat. |
