Hi everyone! I spoke with Glenda today and she told me that she has sold her dogs to many of you and I was wondering what you all have heard about her and her dogs and what you think or what was your experience.

I have not met Glenda, nor purchased one of her dogs, but I do know lots who have and I have never heard a complaint from any of them. Glenda has beautiful healthy dogs!

Yes, they are beautiful, but the puppy she was telling me about has a bite issue and she is asking quite a lot of money for puppy with a bite issue--same price as the puppy that does not have a bite issue.

Ditto :) I have not bought from her, but I know many people who have and none of them have any complaints! All of her babies are absolutely gorgeous!

Hmmm....I would think that she would lower the price a little? Maybe since it's not a "health" issue she won't, I'm not sure. I know she lowers the price on dogs who have had hernias and open fontanels.

yes, by all means check the Breeder Review forum. There was recently a long thread on there. i would not buy a puppy with a bite issue for the same price. That puppy should be drastically reduced in price and if you plan on breeding, do not buy it at all. For a pet at a cheaper price, it will be fine.

Having a bite issue is probably the reason she's placing as a pet and not for the show ring. Having an underbite or over shot bite is not uncommon in yorkies. I would place a yorkie in a pet home if they had an undershot or overshot bite but it doesn't mean they are unhealthy. Her pet price is her pet price whether it be a bite issue or a color issue or whatever is considered pet quality and not for the show ring :) Hope this helps.

My apologies. I thought the OP was asking for opinions from owners of her Yorkies, but I reread it, and see that's not the case. Time to get new reading glasses.

No problem. I know where you're coming from with the reading glasses. Hubby and I went out to dinner for our 32nd anniversary tonight, told him we really need to start taking our reading glasses with us..Couldn't hardly read the total on the bill..;)

Oh my! I just saw the thread about her.....that is crazy! You are all very very passionate people, but that was like a blood bath reading all those posts!

It makes me a bit hesitant and I had to pull her teeth for her to tell me things about the parents and the line. I didnt get the greatest vibes from her. She did have very very beautiful dogs though.


Its so hard to find a good breeder.....

just my opinion but if you got a bad vibe, well remember our furry kids are with us for a loooooong time....we do not want to have any regrets or concerns about a big decision like this :)

Oh, I wont be using her. Like I said, she was not friendly and it was pulling teeth to get information. She acted like she was better than me and I dont like that.

She also said that the bite was not an issue and it actually is a cute thing and I should definitely take the dog with the bite issue. Very odd....


Anyway, still trying to find a breeder with a female dog......:aimeeyork

I used to think highly of her until I found that she shipped pups of different breeds to a pet store. Not once but many times. Some of which were only 8 weeks old and had recent hernia operations. The second thing is that during this thread two other issues came out. The first, a woman who bought a pup from her and upon the pup arriving it was very sick. They found he had congenetal Liver Shunt and from what the article stated (link below) Glenda never responded. The second issue was about a French Boston that it looked like she co-owned with another. He was sold and later died at the young age of 20 months. Again, from what was stated nothing was done about it. I have to agree with you. I too would not buy from her after readint he info as it did not sit well with me either. Elaine

There are some for sale on this site, and I do know there are a lot of good breeders on here(some are just hobby breeders), so you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for a pet..The right one will come along..;)

I suggest one to start looking on the YTCA.org website and look for a breeder in your area. The YTCA.org is a good starting point.

I have a question/comment about that, but perhaps I should start my own thread. When I was looking for a puppy, I went to the YTCA site. I contacted every breeder listed with an e-mail address, and recieved back MAYBE three replies. I actually think it was more like two. I 100% whole heartedly understand the importance of purchasing from a reputable breeder, but have to say it is frustrating to recieve no answer when attempting to make contact with one of these breeders. To me, this is pushing potential buyers to go to easily accesible "breeders," i.e., Jeff Dane types. Just my $.02..... Sorry to hijack this thread..

I understand 100%, over the summer we were looking to get our little girl and I went looking on the YTCA site for breeders and got only a few e mails back, I even called a few and left messages, not one called me back:( Luckily for me I privet messaged a YT member that has a Yorkie from a breeder that I was checking out that is in my state. She had nothing but nice things to say, and so we went and looked at the puppies, and now I have my Yumi Yasha!

OP, good luck finding a reputable breeder, and if you are able to go personally to check the breeder out, do it! Its nice to get a feel of the breeder and see her and her pups for yourself.

I would go with your gut and word of mouth. Not just who people recommend, but only those who have bought and been to a breeder\'s place.
