According to what was posted, she ignored it. That foundation always post an update when the matter is resolved. there is no update there. That is the top Liver Shunt Research foundation in the country.

This is the most ridiculous statement I've read in a long time. Come on, are you serious? Let's villianize the consumers (most aren't even aware of where these puppies come from and purchase because of the pull on their heart strings) as oppose to the puppymills that pump out these puppies in the masses, who's mom's and dad's never see the light of day, only to be brought out for breeding.


How do we know the dogs are suffering? How do you know they're not? If the puppies are lucky, most of them will end up in a decent home. Do you think the only people who purchase these puppies are decent homes, no, more puppy millers and even people who mistreat dogs. Nobody knows or cares where they end up at a petstore. Everybody loves a puppy....but what about their moms and dad's that you don't see?

I read the TSFMLS success story. I'm glad the pup got excellent care.

Yes it did get excellant care from the foundation. Thank goodness there are places like that that will give a puppy or dog the care it needs when breeders ignore them or owners can't afford the expensive care they need.

If you read what you've written, you'll have read something more ridiculous than what I wrote, not that I'm admitting what I wrote was ridiculous.

If people don't buy from the pet stores, the puppy mills will cease to exist. If puppy mills cease to exist who'll supply the puppies.

Think of what's happening with illegal drugs. I wonder how many taxpayer dollars have been spent dealing with this issue, and it's not even close to being resloved.

Anyway, the only issue I have is not sticking to the facts on this thread.

No offense bilido...but you've spent more effort on the subject than the breeder herself....obviously the entire matter doesn't concern her.

That is not really fair or nice. She / He has not posted anymore than anyone else in this thread.

Also, I'm happy for you that you've had a wonderful experience with GB. I can understand how you and others would want to defend her given your experience with her.

Bildio, the dogs suffering that I referred to would be the breeding stock and puppies of puppymills - and yes, they do suffer - horribly! Anyone that supplies as many shipments to a pet store is either a broker, puppymill or both. Anyone involved in, or that defends the practice is perpetuating the suffering of dogs, IMO.

And I will state once again, I am not defending or supporting Glenda Beavers, just telling my story, the truth, about my experience with her and her dogs. I thought that was the original question? Not ethics and opinions on breeding, showing, exhibiting, etc. I will also repeat, once again, that I think it is a reach to consider Tsa La Gi a "puppy mill" - which was insinuated in an earlier post. Listen, I'm not a professional breeder, exhibitor or dog show expert - just someone that was looking for healthy, pretty, happy dogs. I found this forum which has provided such valuable advice in the past and I hope that those that feel the need to be so judgemental in their opinions will be able to take a step back, and realize that things are not always so black and white. With age comes wisdom and experience, and hopefully some of what I have seen and read recently is just a lack thereof. I really just wish everyone luck in what they are seeking - I am fortunate enough to have found it in the puppies that I have.

I don't think GB is a puppy mill............I just looked at her puppies and her yorkies again and I have to WOW.........beautiful. I do doubt certain things that has been said here.....I do wonder why this thread was given a chance to start back up and why when some don't agree they become personally attacked and then shown how many times they post, YEAH me this is my 9th time posting on this discussion. IF OP wanted educational knowledge she could have read the other thread instead of starting another one, just like the one trying to get started on the Pet store. But she didn't, which is okay GB told her to RIGHT. As I see it we all are adding fuel to the fire...........and I think none of us will agree on this issue. So why not close this thread and let it die back down.

Ok, enough said don't ya think? Between the two posts I think there is enough info on GB ( good and bad) to make a choice to get a puppy from her or not. :rolleyes:

The code of Ethics listed in that post is only aimed at members of the YTCA not to all breeders.

Just remember to look for a breeder that will stand behind their breedings and has a warranty. I would suggest finding one w/o a loop hole warranty.

To the OP if your still here.......This is a site that lists breeders and it has G.B. listed as a breeder that is not recommended......

I have sent a message asking if they could share info. as to why they do not reccomend Glenda. This is for my own curiosity. I would like to see if they have found out some of the things that have recently surfaced. I'll let you know if I hear anything back. E.

I found SEVERAL well known show breeders on here and a couple that I know are excellant breeders. I just wonder if this site is made up of one person that had a bad experiencee with the breeder. I know you can't please everyone at the same time. That isn't fair if that is what is up with this site. Letting one dissatisfied client ruin a reputation. Of course unless you know these people personally or have been to their homes, you really don't know what they are doing.

I would not buy anything from anyone unless I was completely comfortable with that person. If you stay on this site long enough and ask everyone their opinions, that will NEVER happen. I had never heard of Glenda Beavers prior to purchasing my little boy in August; I read and researched this site as well as anywhere else I could....in fact, this is where I got her name. I found nothing negative about her AT ALL. In fact, everyone had nothing but praise for her and her dogs. I have been very happy with my puppies, no complaints with Glenda at all, but you see what happens in just a few short months. This site now has nothing but negative comments about her, so at times, you must trust your own judgement and heart, because you obviously will not find 100% agreement - 100% of the time, and if you do, wait a few months and it will all change!

Dee, maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it looks like a list of recommended breeders with warnings for ones not recommended. So maybe those were actually recommended? I see many of whom you're probably talking about. Somebody help me here, I didn't see GB in the top link under O, am I on the wrong page or link?

That site is confusing for sure. There is a black highlighted spot where is just randomly says I wound not recomend GB and I think Carol B. It doesn't say why or anything else about it. I think someone emailed to ask why. It does say on Carol B website that GB helped her start her kennel and lines over or something to the effect. Mabey Carol B had troubles in the past and then got some new lines from GB. Who knows....They also did own a dog together.

It's very sad about the sick dogs Carol bred and did nothing about it when they got sick to satisfy the new owners years ago. To me that says everything about a breeder. Any breeder can have things happen , but when you don't fix the problem and right it with the new owners that is just plain wrong!! Full refund, help with the medical , whatever the case. For me there is ample proof the GB sold puppies to a pet store. Even if she did just ship ( which is dumb to think that in my opinon ) that is also very wrong, that I think 100% of the people on YT could agree ! GB has beautiful dogs for sure and is still winning in the show ring, but the stuff about the petstore and being a friend with Carol B who doesn't cover her very sick pups( according to the shunt site) would be enough for me to look elsewhere for sure. Just because you have winning show dogs, doesn't mean you have good ethics. I don't know either of these breeders, but like I said there is enough proof for me to that I would not buy form either of these breeders. I guess each to their own......
