| JUST got back home, have 1 baby I just got back home. It was exhausting. Let me just say that we have 1 little boy. I do not know how much he weighs but he looks really good and screaming really loud. I managed to convince the assistant to let me take a photo and they took him back to keep warm. he is full term with lots of tan hair. I have one word of advice for EVERYONE and ANYONE expecting a litter. Trust your gut! The emergency vet yesterday at another Hospital told me that this was most likely her mucus plug. I didnt buy it at all. Thats why I could not sleep lastnight! You dont have to be super experienced to know that this was not a mucus plug. Even though I must have asked a zillion people,I knew this was a placenta that had torn. The vet today gave me two options. Take her home and see if she starts pushing or c-section. He said the pups most likely would be dead if I took her home but I could bring her back to get the pups out.... I looked at him and grabbed the napkins that were soaked with green discharge and told him " this is not a mucus plug and I know 1 puppy is dead in there. I told him the Xray showed 2 puppies but I deffinately heard 3 heartbeats. They did another Xray and in fact there were 3 skulls! They took her in for the C section. I waited like 2 hrs. He came out and told me they took out 3 pups and 1 was born dead froma torn placenta...duh! Well there was 2 alive. But he came out like15 minutes later and told me the 2nd had passed. I sat there frozen and just said "ok" Then called him back and told him " Do whatever you have to for that last little baby, please" I didnt leave and sat there another hour , I wanted to make sure Lola and the last pup were ok. He came back after that other hour and told me that I had a baby boy that looked really good. I had her spayed also today.Lola's uterus was torn and was going to rupture!!! He told me I made a really good call when I said to take the pups out because Lola would have died if I brought her back home.I am numb right and want to cry and I know I will breakdown later on today. I'm still not ok because I want to bring Lola & her baby home tomorrow. I dontthink I could stand it if they told me he passed also. So PLEASE keep this little guy in your prayers. I really enjoyed with all my heart the whole experience with Lola ,believe it or not. I feel I would love to LEARN ,learn ,learn and possibly help out a breeder I know in my neighborhood and one day.Ina few yrs maybe I would try this the right way.It was a rollercoaster ride but I think it sometimes is. I dont know how much he weighed but he looks at least 4 oz Lola is doing ok but I need to call them at 5:30 to see what they say about her possibly going home tomorrow. Genie,Cookie,Lola & Angel |

| I am very sorry about the loss of two pups. However, you followed your instincts , and things could have turned out very bad. Your new little baby is so tiny and fraglie right now... I am in awe . I am glad Lola Is going to be fine, and I am sure she will be a great mommy to her baby .

| Genie I am so very sorry for you loss, we do have to learn to trust our gut instincts especially when it comes to our dogs and our kids. I am so very sorry that you lost 2 of the babies and that Lola had to have a c-section. It is heartbreaking, if you need any help with Lola caring for her puppy let us know, we have had some experience with new moms not taking to their babies. I am happy to hear that Lola is doing ok, whenever we have expecting moms they become your first priority, healthy babies are the goal but moms come first...always. We do whatever we can for them! Give Lola a big hug for us and take a deep breath...it will all be ok! What is the reason that she is still at the vet clinic? Were there complications? We have never had one stay...once their temp was up and they were awake we took them home with babies. I would never want to leave my girl there, especially overnight, she could get constant care and supervision at home.

| They are keeping her overnight, they have staff 24 hrs there. The reason he wanted to keep her until 8 am is because there were some complication sdue to her uterus almost rupturing and they are giving her IV antibiotics. They told me the little guy is suckling very well. They told me he is a real little screamer. I have no doubt that is theone heartbeat that I heard really loud and superfast! lol The other ones were more faint. So she wont be alone there overnight. I'll be there at 8 am sharp to pick them up! More pictures tomorrow! Genie,Cookie,Lola & Angel |
