| Yes it has been a crazy 24 hrs. You NEVER truly realize how much you care for a pet until something goes wrong. She's totally mydaughter's dog but now I'm soooo attached to her. My knees turned to jello when I saw the discharge. The whelping box is too pretty I know lol. I just put towels in there . I have LOTS of towels in the tub behind her whelping box . I am keeping a close eye on her trust me! Lastnight she was coughing and my husband elbowed me right away. Iwas already awake with a flashlight in my hand. I just shine it on her whelping box and she was fine . I will keep everyone posted on any changes! Thank you again for the prayers!! Genie,Cookie,Lola *& Angel |

| I should be sleeping but I'm wide awake at 1am now.Lola is sleeping peacefully and I am still doubting what the vet told me. I keep telling myself ,he went to school for this and he knows way more than I do. No matter what /breeding/whelping info I've read they all say the same thing."Dark Green" is bad sign. I know I did the right thing by taking her to the vet plus bringing him the tissue with the tiny bit of dark green discharge. She hasn't had anymore at all. I really should get some sleep now! I will check in tomorrow for an update. Genie,Cookie,Lola & Angel |

I think he's right. Mine have had a discharge for a couple of weeks now. It doesn't come out dark, but turns dark brown as it dries. It is extremely sticky. I think it is just normal preparation like the vet says. Get some rest, you are going to need it before long...

| Hey Genie, I just returned a PM to you. I hope you got some sleep last night - the next few days will be quite exciting. Dont forget - take a look at my "Mucus Plug" thread - there are pics there of the mucus plug. Chloe had the pups 2 nights after she shed her mucus plug. So sorry I wasnt on yesterday. A dinner party of 4 suddenly turned into a dinner party of 9 - and well, I am sure you can imagine how my night was. Anyway, please let us know how little Lola is doing today.

| I slept for like 3 hrs and got up at 7 am to check on her. She had some discharge on her leg and I took a picture of it.Maybe someone here can reassure me that the vet was correct and this was most likely her mucus plug. But it seems way too dark green to me.I attached a picture. I am going to call them again and let them know Genie,Cookie ,Lola & Angel |
