| ![]() I had a puppy one time that sounds similar you yours. He was a singleton puppy and very over weight. At four weeks he could not walk, just pulled himself around with his front legs. I started exercising his hind legs. I would hold him up with his hind legs in the palm of my hand and let him push up against my hand. I would do this several times a day. I also put some bedding in his box that was not slippery. I used a braided rug so he could get some traction with his hind legs when he crawled around. After working with the puppy for a week or so the puppy started walking on his own. By the time he was 8 weeks old he was perfectly normal. Is your puppy over weight? I hope it is just a matter of him needing to exercise his legs so he can build up some muscles. |

| ![]() When she crawls does she try to use her back legs but just can't get them under her? With my puppy he could push up with his legs when I held his legs together in the palm of my hand. If you puppy can do than then I think there is hope. It is important that she not be on a slick surface. This might be similar to what they call a 'swimmer' puppy. I am praying that her back legs are not paralyzed but just weak. |

| ![]() No, no, no, do not put her down now..wait a few months...I can not begin to tell you what I have seen correct itself...co-breeder and I had a puppy who could not stand or even take a step until 8 weeks..we had no clue what was wrong..she is 8 months she is running through the house like any other 8 month old...I had one male whose back legs turned in and bowed so much he could nto stand...but by 12 weeks only one foot barely turned in..it went to a pet home and lived a long happy life... She may have a problem, but she may not..if you do not want her I will take her... |

She does try to use her back legs but it's like they don't work right. One on the right is turned kinda funny. And her bottom end is sorta turned to the side, if that makes sense. They are definately NOT paralyzed. She does move them. | |
