Why would you leave a girl in heat with an intact male with a person who could care less that they mate and then be surprised when she could be pregnant!! Your were irresponsible, that's my comment. Being that my no comment upset you, then you feel guilty for leaving your girl there and you should.

| ![]() There are not many signs this early in a pregnancy that can be seen...Swollen vulva, swollen teats, can all be symptoms of pregnancy but also of a false pregnancy... Palpation can be preformed around the 26th day of pregnancy but no later than the 30th day...After the 30th day fluid starts to build up making palpation more difficult....By the 5th or 6th week of pregnancy you will start to notice her abdomen spreading out... Do not overfeed her...Exercise her daily...A Mom to be that is not fat and is in good body shape delivers much easier... As far as your mom being only 4.4 pounds, I prefer to see them larger...I like to see them in the 5-7 pound range so if they have any complications it is easier to treat and less of a strain on mom... Dad does not determine the birth weight of the puppies at all...It is like a gold fish in a bowl...only grows as big as the bowl...put it in a pond and it grows much larger...Same for a pup in a uterus... Please take the time to educate yourself and read, read, read so you are prepared for the birth of puppies if need be....

| ![]() I would have her x-rayed at the start of her 9th week (56th day or so)... and have the vet tell you whether the pups are too big to pass... he/she should be able to tell you if a c-section would be needed. Hoping all goes well (it should).... and keep us posted on her. Best of luck!!

| ![]() YorkieChick, Thank you. Thank you for proving my point that there are some people on this website who only care to criticize instead of guide. I could easily stoop down to your name blame game, but I prefer not to. Instead, I prefer to read the helpful comments from people who care about the health of all yorkies - not just those that they deem worth their while. Dont presume to know me.

| ![]() Gardenyorkies - Thank you so much for your comments. I will be sure to save them in my files. Chloe is typically very active - she has been a bit sluggish since she went into heat. Gurleygirl - thank you, too, for your comments. I will bring her to see the vet to get X-rayed, etc. I figured that she may need a C-section, so I want to bring her in, determine the size of the puppies' skulls, etc. I will absolutely keep everyone posted. Thank you so much for your help!
