OH my! I think you have a LOT of homework to do. Why would you want to mix breeds? There are SO MANY mixed breeds in the shelters waiting for owners or thier trip to the Rainbow Bridge. It is NOT easy to breed these little ones and your babies very life could very well be inb danger especially if you don't know what you are doing. Are you ready to loose your baby?? It happens all the time.. This is better left to the experienced. |
i do not plan on getting rid of any of the pups she has .. so why would it matter if i choose to mix breeds ... |
I wish you luck with what you decide to do. It's not just the pups at risk it's the risk of loseing your mom also. Like I said good luck with whatever you choose to do. |

Because you don't breed just to have puppies...there are tons of unwanted puppies that you could go and adopt or choose a free one. What if she has 7-8 puppies...are you going to keep them all? There are too many mutts out there that are being abandoned everyday. You both have two great breeds. Why mess with the breed and mix them? If you two are wanting to breed, why not study your breeds and then decide if its something you want to do...but only if you are doing it to better the breed...IMO creating mutts is not beneficial to the breed. What if something happens to you medically that you wouldn't be able to take care of all of them? If you are an animal lover then why not consider taking a deserving puppy from the pound or rescue shelter? If you do decide to go ahead and do it, which I'm sure you will. I hope the both of you do some research into the breeds and whelping. I personally studied and thought I would be totally prepared but with my first litter I was a mess...too excited to think. |
Please vist your local animal shelter!!! How many animals enter animal shelters each year? And how many are euthanized? The HSUS estimates that animal shelters care for between 6–8 million dogs and cats every year in the United States, of whom approximately 3–4 million are euthanized. At this time The HSUS can only estimate these figures because there is no central data reporting agency for animal shelters. This overpopulation of companion animals is widely acknowledged across the country by professionals and experts in the animal welfare field. Overpopulation is a tragedy. There are simply not enough responsible homes for all of these wonderful, innocent animals. At this point in time, it would be impossible to humanely house every unwanted animal in the United States. Sorry if I hurt your feelings as this was not my intention. Please visit your local animal shelter....I was at Petsmart today and there were some really precious pups just begging to be adopted. |
i understand there are plenty of animals at the pound .. but i want her to have her own baby .. |
Is she a full blooded Yorkie or is she mixed? |

If you are wanting her to have a playmate, then you can adopt one of those many babies out there that need a home. |
