| Heat/post breeding question Hi all, My girl Monroe in in her 5th heat cycle right now. I have bred her 1 time with success, bred her again, had a false pg, and she is in heat again now. I took her back to the same stud I have used for both my girls and he is well proven. My question is we had 3 great ties, but here is is about 1 week later and she is having a slight bloody colored discharged, I guess it could be like the dark straw. She stood fine, he was very interested, could she still be in heat, or is she miscarring, or is this normal. I have seen the clear discharge, but this is diffrent. She is a bit nauseas as well as she has puked a few times. Do you think I should rush her to the vet? Is she sick. or what. This will be my 4th litter, I have done research, but this I was not expecting Thanks Brandi

| Depending on what day she is in her cycle the discharge could be normal(first week), but I'm assuming since they've tied already she's nearing the end. Some females bleed after mating. But a week after, I've never experienced it. I hope others who have will offer advice. She could be vomiting from pregnancy (morning sickness). It's usually after day 21 from what I understand. If the discharge has a foul smell, I'd take her to the vet as she will probably need to be seen and given antibiotics. |

| If the discharge is just tinged with color, I wouldn't worry too much. Coco had a small discharge off and on during her pregnancy. I agree if there is any odor, you need to see the vet. Also, your mom may have morning sickness. Coco was sick throughout her entire pregnancy. We were on and off the chicken/rice diet for the entire time. Good luck.

| I would nt worry about the discharge either as long a it does not smell. Mine keep themselves so clean I do not notice much all the way through their cycle. When we bred bigger dogs they did have a discharge the last week of their cycle,so I woudl say that is normal. I have a friend who breeds Bichons and one of them pukes the first week after being bred ,she does not have morning sickness 3-4 weeks after being bred it is the first week for her. They are all different on how pregnancy will affect them some go by the books and others do not. | Thanks for the help Ok, so I am a super protective mommy here, and I was not used to this. However it is not stinky at all perhaps I am catching her between cleanings, but it is slowing down to almost nothing. So the waiting games begins. BTW does anyone know the chances of a repeated false pg?
