| It's Killing me Girls it's killing me not being able to whelp a litter of babies this year. I come here to the breeder talk forum & to the nursery, see all these precious babies being whelped & inside my heart is begging for a litter. Am I nuts or what? I honestly love pregnant mommies, feeling the babies kick, watching mommy not to jump on the couch, the x-rays, vet visits, getting all the whelping supplies ready, the room and U name it with mommy. I also honestly love whelping/raising babies I don't mind one bit what I have to go through to get them here such as the staying up all night waiting for them to get here, feeding every hour to every 2 hours, vet visits, cleaning the whelping box all the time, cleaning bottoms and faces, giving baths all the time, tending to coats, U name it with puppies I love it. I also loved it when my girls was infants and I had to get up all the time and tend to them. I still say I would rather have a infant then the ages my girls are now lol. Wonder if I could be a Whelping Yorkie Midwife Assistant/Nanny? I just miss the whole process so much. It is hard to have that want and sit back and see/hear all these precious dolls coming into this world (No offense to anyone who has the precious babies now or upcoming litters) I just have to wait my turn Next Spring That's like a whole year away. Tell me I won't feel so down like I do now all year long. I'll just keep coming here wishing and wanting. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Lee I am right there with you on that. I see all my friends having puppies and I get so anxious for July to get her for my girl to go into heat again . I think the only solution is to try to have the females alternate. Like that could actually happen but hey wishful thinking is great. At least when Friday comes home I will have the classes and shows to keep me occupied until she is old enough.

| I haven't whelped a litter since I raised Golden Ret. years ago. I miss it too. I had 10 goldens at one time and to see the wee faces popping up to see whos here is so endearing. I went thru the preggy blues too when it was all said and done and now I have my yorkies to look after. So in the meantime, I will take care of the Aunts & Uncles waiting room for all the other lucky ppl who get to go thru the process! Until its our turn again! hang in there....yorkie hugs

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | A Yearning for a Litter Club .......... I think that's what we need. Count me in on this group. I feel exactly as you do TeddyandTiffy. Anything any "normal" person would call work, expense, trouble in having a litter, is none of that for me. Every bit of it is a labor of love and a joy to behold. I too will probably have to wait until next spring before having another litter here. Until then, I will enjoy the puppy pictures and whelping threads here and just pretend i am there; and learn more from all the experiances I read about.

| You know, I was actually just talking about this with my mom a few minutes ago. I feel the exact same way. I LOVE everything about it...I get so excited waiting for another litter. I don't even mind the whelping process, staying up all night, etc. My heart just skips a beat when each puppy comes out and I clean him/her up, and then the moment when I find out if it's a boy or girl...just so exciting. I love every single part of it. Of course it's hard when you lose a little baby like I did with Aidyn and his first sister recently, but you just try to move on and know that they don't have to hurt anymore if they weren't meant to make it. In my eyes, the rewards outweigh the sorrows. I finally found something I that truly enjoy doing. I'm also a nanny, but this is nothing like that. I guess I would've been a good labor and delivery nurse...lol |
