Exactly...we had many many patients that the original accident had been over a week because of swelling...waiting may be hard but alot of times it is the best thing

It is a long process with ortho problems.
My son just had the big screw removed and is finally doing better one big plate and 8 screws later.

I was upset thinking you have to be kidding me.
When we finally got to see the ortho dr he told us the reason they wait before seeing the patient is so the swelling will go down by the time the ortho dr sees them. so waiting is what the ortho drs do

Oh boy. I know I'm going to get in trouble. But for discussion purposes only:

If your son fell again tomorrow would you wait a few days for the swelling to go down? I doubt it. If he had a complete break it can be life threatening and the only way to know would be xray.

But anywho...

My baby girl looks great!!
Allie did not like the tape , so rather then have an accident
when I wasnt up to watch her all night I took the taping off
I had to check just now...and REALLY look to find which one it was~!
It looks soooooooooo much better. I just cant believe it
I'm so happy!!!!!! It is still bent a little tiny bit.
And the vet will check it tomorrow.
But I cant even begin to tell you the improvement.

I hope if this ever happens to anyone else on here.
They know it can be fixed!

Debbi that is so great to hear....you are doing a great job......cant wait to see pics when she is about 4 weeks running around.....they are so cute when they starting walking and stumbling....good job.....

I am happy to hear the puppy is doing well. I think I have seen and done it all at one time or the other...these things correct so fast, bones are soft and mold right back into place...much like a babies skull after birth..but there is no waiting with a stressed puppy in pain...this is not the case.

When someone asks for advise...I try to give it, and then make no judgements if my advise is followed...I always caution putting a deformed pup down too soon or thinking you have to fix it the first day...they are so adaptable and much disappears in a few weeks...it is like the thread with the cleft lip pup...my friends two girls looked very deformed at 8 wks...and at 8 months the facial hair around the mouth was so long it was hard to see a problem...but several breeders told her to destroy them early on...even the vet was infavor when he saw them at 2 days...they are wonderful girls...

I'm like you. My first thought (for just a few minutes) was should I put it down. This shows ..NO WAY
If puppy had been in any pain at all I wouldnt have waited for the vet
I'm just so happy this morning. Its a great day~!

I have a grandson that was born with a club foot. It looked bad. After he was a few months old they put his foot in a plaster cast for months. Today you would never know he ever had a problem.

Considering all the circumstances and all that Debbi is going through, I think she is doing a wonderful job.

What ever happened to the litter with the first born puppy being a cleft palate? I read all the information suggested on that thread, but what was the final decision for that little puppy?

I think there is another thread about that puppy. The puppy is doing very well and it looks like it just has a cleft lip or hair lip and not a cleft palate.
