OMG I'm getting nervous just reading the posts! Poor Ruby, she is officially too big for the dog door. And (although I'm only taking her temp morning and night) every time I take the thermometer out she runs under my husband's desk. Her temp has dropped back down to 97.7. But she is eating and looks okay. Good luck to all. |

Pups have lost a little, but that's to be expected. No that's not Tink, it's my heart throb Billie...love that little guy!! I posted pics of Tink and Pete earlier in this thread. Relax, those pups will be there before you know it. It's like that saying "a watched pot will never boil" or something like that. :D |

Still no puppies for us - Day 65! Missay gave us a "scare" last night with acting a little funny & needing to go outside to do her business. Her temp was at 98.3 which is the lowest it's been, then later this morning she was back up a little to 98.9. I've tried to back off a little on the thermometer thing since I'm thinking she hates me everytime I do it & probably hurts her little tush! (Even though I use lube). On her breeding, there was only 1 tie, so to calculate the days should be easy. I think I'll give her unitl tomorrow & then take her to the vet. She's ot really showing any signs, but then again, she didn't last time either. Last time I could tell she was having contractions & it was getting close though. It went so much faster last time though.... watching her like a hawk! Good luck to the other mommys to be too. I can't believe how many of us are on & just waiting. This anticipation is killing me! I want to read a good whelp story soon. |

I would start getting a bit worried too in the next day or so too. I know just what ch mean...Allie just glares at me...like NOT AGAIN...lol But no change....I do it about evey 4-5 hours. My husband swears she is doing "the stare thing" He claims to always know long before I do that they are in labor NOT!! She is doing a bit of a stare...As in.. I am sick of these rumbling in my tummy stares. And has been doing THAT for weeks. She HATES being pregnant last time and this time. But was a great mother. Will be watching for babies alll day here. As I'm stuck here and sooooo bored |

I do think taking the temp is important for if it goes down and no progress to contractions after 24 hrs something needs to be done. I had a female whos temp dropped (it was a singleton litter) no contractions so 24 hrs later off to the vet,she was dialated all the way and a shot of oxy was given and we had a pup within a hour.If I would have not been taking her temp I would not have known she was in labor for she was eating no nesting and did not act like she was in labor at all ,she was playing with the other dogs also:confused: A watched yorkie never whelps they say sometimes I feel it is true. Jewels who is due next here dosent have many signs of labor either except the temp drop and she hides.Good luck |

Here's one of Dr. Hutchinson's Q and A, always a good read http://www.dobermannreview.co.yu/default.php |
I was nervous to post...but 4 Attachment(s) After reading everyone's story I figured I could handle the harsh comments and benefit from the support. I have a long history and you can search my post to find out all about it. But, needless to say I was an idiot and didn't know my girl was pregnant. Didn't know they could get to each other through a crate  Anyway... we had a sucess story in the end and kept the one pup. Now a year and half later several family members love our dogs and really wanted pups. My husband and I talked about it. We loved the experience so much (even if it was thrown at us) and were willing to do it again if we could stay close with their forever homes. One family who is taking two pups is my sister in law... then my Aunt is taking another and if there is a fourth (which the vet said she thought there was... it is going to my parents). So, we are not in it for the money... everybody has a good home to go to. We really love the whole process. Since, the first litter I have read a ton, watched videos and have printed out about every thread on this site and read it over and over. Thanks to everyones imput I have everything I need and my baby Lilly is getting everything she needs. Again, I was nervous because I have been around here long enough to know there are some very strong opinions ( which I completely understand) But, I really would like to involve everyone because I enjoy so much reading other peoples stories. So, here is a picture of my prego Lilly. The vet said according to her x-ray that she is due between April 7-12. We weren't entirely sure what tie worked. But, I am taking her temp once in the morning and once before dinner to make sure. Vet said to bring her back in by the 12th if she hasn't had them yet and he would take another look. The other picture is of the whelping box my husband made. After reading many posts I wanted one with an open bottom so that I could tuck the towels underneath and prevent the puppies from being burried. I think he did a great job and Lilly really likes to sleep in it. It is right next to my bed in a quite and dark corner of the house. Now we just have to sit and wait with the rest of you = ) |
Xray 4 Attachment(s) How many do you see :D |
I see 2 for sure. Best wishes for a good delivery. |

But I cant remember if her temp dropped or not from last year? Rrrrrrrrrrrrr |
I have old people eyes!!!!!!! Quote:
I cant even see the computer screen half the time...:p But I think I see 3... |

She said that puppies are notorious for hiding behind one another... which would explain why so many xrays weren't accurate  But, it make me feel good to at least have an idea of what to expect. She had two puppies the first time and she looks twice as big to me this time... but as I have read that might not mean one single thing! All I know is that I have very excited expected parents and I just want everybody to be health and happy:D |

Dont be afraid to post to YT Quote:
You were not an idiot. I dont know your story. BUT I can imagine a bit.....strong opinions ?!?!?!?!? I'm sure you're being nice. Rrrrrrrrrrr end of story. Glad everything worked out well last time. Even with the accident. And so glad you're here now. don't be afraid. I wish everyone wasnt afraid to post I really cant figure it out. Flaming dont bother me...I dont get mad I just know its THEIR opinion. Doesn't make them right. I personally know of more expecting puppies who wont post. Just for the same reason you didnt. I sure wish they and others would. Its a joy to share in new puppies...and I know some want to share in this. But are afraid to be put down. Makes me sad once again.... If someone come in this thread picking on anyone I will ask that their post be removed. Your hubby did a great job...looks like you've researched...learned and you're ready to go |

Because I have a secret. But like you and so many people I know I'll get flamed for it. My Nala is having puppies too...April 24 or so I bred her as now ,as I didn't want to wait until her next heat and have summer puppies. So hot for her and puppies in a whelping box. Nala is a Morkie. And the sire is a Morkie. She has BEAUTIFUL puppies that I am so proud of. So thats my secret...only a couple on here know. They are NOT mutts and they are not in shelters... They are wonderful lovable dogs So now everybody knows. I felt like a hypocrite telling everyone dont be afraid to post :( |

Wow, your eyes are better than mine -- I thought I counted 6! LOL. I still have to have the vet point them out to me. Best wishes to mom and to you as well. |
Welcome, lovelily, best wishes for a safe and easy whelp. You've come to the right thread for some support. It's been a fun ride here with these ladies while waiting. BTW you guys, what's the hold up?? :p JK |

Hmmmm... if she has that many maybe one can stay (my husband would love that ~ although he did say if he doesn't LOVE and TRUST the new parents to be then he would rather they stay here with us!) Heck I already convinced myself that they were all leaving this time... and my kids... "Houston we have a problem!" |

Hi, Your posts rings familiar for me; my Sasha just had a litter of two three days ago. Like you I was confined to my house for a week because I failed to count the days like I should've. Good luck with your babies. |
