Ruby is holding her own this morning. She had her belly shaved and is ready to go. Her temp this morning is 99.1, and she ate (very slowly) this morning. She has been out side pottying alot. Still doesn't want to be around anyone, and is hanging out with my husband under his desk. Mucous discharge still present, but no more bloody show.

She looks smaller with her hair gone, but here are her belly pictures.

And Wow! Congrats to Janet and all her lovely babies. So glad mom is doing well and that you got a daytime birth. We really do have a bunch of puppies due on YT....they are stacked like airplanes waiting for their turn to land. HA.

Aren't day whelpings the best? My first one was a day whelp and I am praying the next one is too. Congrats on the babies!!! Keep us updated and post some pics!!

Well I am not sure if Destiny is pregnant or not this time around. She has gained weight and has all the signs but she isn't nearly as big as she was last time. This will be her second litter.

So here are some belly pictures I took of her today. She would have 18 days to go if she is pregnant.

Tinky had 5 kids, 3 girls and 2 boys...posting pics in the nursery now.

I'd have to say that was the best whelp for us ever! (Big sigh of relief!!):D

Congrats!! :thumbup: :D I'm so glad everything went well...that was an easy (and short) whelp! Now you can get some sleep lol. ;)

cute belly but thank goodness not as big as I thought.

our sugar is due on april 9th today is day 56, she just wants up with me all the time , has to be lifted up and down, xray showed 3 but there was a shadow behind them so maybe 4, this is her first litter, first small dog litter for us, we also have boxers . we have everything set up for her, have caliucm, heating pad, nutracal, new washcloths for cleaning puppies, nose sucker , unwaxed floss to tie cords off, milk , bottles if needed, oxytocin if she gets stalled, im a human nurse so hope ive covered most of what i'll need. sugar weigths 3lb 14 0z when not pregant and is 5 lbs now my cota the dad is 4lbs:)

Oh she sure is little I hope she does well.
Has she had xrays yet (its a bit early yet i know)...do you know how many?
Let us know...Were here. I hope a safe whelping for you.
Be sure to have an emergency vet...K? just to be safe
My daughter and my son both are nurses...:)

Oh wow, she is a little girl! Wishing you good luck and a safe whelping!

Be careful with the oxytocin...check out the thread on it in this forum posted earlier today. There are some good ideas there on it.

Wow!! Congrats Janet and Tinky! You weren't kidding when you said she just gets up and gets it done. Good job mom and Janet. :)

Our Ruby has 17 days and seems to be alot bigger -- but we know she is having 4-5 puppies. Could be small number of puppies -- or a false pregnancy. Have you had a sonogram??

Okay, I read so many posts on this website & you guys are great. I never post questions myself though. My little Missy is on day 64 now & I'm going absolutely bonkers waiting for her to pop these little babies out. Her last litter she went on day 60, so I'm really surprised she's gone sooo long!! I've been hanging out at home with her for the past 5-6 days, just to be here & NOTHING! She didn't do much of the nesting or early signs last time either, but her temp did drop. This time her temp is pretty steady around 99.2-99.5. I'm wondering if I should take her to the vet if she doesn't deliver by tomorrow, day 65?? Any comments? Supposedly she'll have 2 maybe 3. She had 3 last time without any complications. She has a little of the blank stare look going on, but other than that, just sleeping & hanging out by me (not unusual). Anything to help her along?? I thought I was sure of the tie date & now I'm starting to question myself. Any help or comments would be great!Hopefully I won't be as shy & can actually participate more, instead of just reading. I feel like I know you all! :-) Thanks for all the great posts!

Ruby's temp is 99.0 tonight, so maybe we just had a little hormonal dip. She seems better, although she still groans whenever her tummy is touched. Still a little discharge, but not like before. I think we are back on track!! YEAH!

Okay, the rest of you proceed to whelp at will, and we will take a spot on the 17th please... Best to all you ladies in waiting.

I think our vet suggests that you come in if mom hasn't whelped by day 65. I know I would feel better seeing the vet in that situation. Just wait though, as luck will have it, you'll go in the middle of the night tonight! Best wishes and keep posting to let us know how you are doing... don't be afraid to speak up - when all is said and done everyone here has a generous heart and loves Yorkies.

Destiny's last pregnancy she had only 3 puppies and she was HUGE!! I don't think her body is capable of having 5 puppies.
She could only have two pups this time around, really don't know.
She has gained about a pound already and is now starting to get bigger.
She has all the signs so either it is a false pregnancy (which she has never had before) or she is pregnant. She will be going in next weekend for an xray so we will see.

Still no puppies with Maggie. Her temp is a little lower this morning at 99.5 But she ate all of her breakfast and drank plenty of water. So I'm guessing maybe this after noon or tonight.

Any news on any of the other moms?

Unless her temp continues going down and stays, I don't think she's going today or tonight. Some do not have the temp drop though, so she could prove me wrong. But with her eating this morning also, I don't think so.

I hope it is soon for you though I know you've been anxiously waiting. Best wishes for a smooth delivery,

Hi...first want to say Welcome to YT~!
How was she bred? I know allie had her puppies days early last year with her first litter.She is now at day 63 and no signs of labor.
If bred then skipped a day then bred again
(then the sperm can live for several days.)
They can be almost a week longer if the first tie didnt take.
My vet doesnt even think anything of it to go 67 days or so.
Allie is doing the blank stare thing this morning too.
But no other signs....Rrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Allie did the same thing...she had 5
This time she is no where near as large.
So its less puppies OR first tie didnt take
May the the same with Destiny
Day 63 today...Ughhhhhh nothing
No temp drop...discharge....NOTHING...lol
Im anxious now after Tinky's whelping yesterday...:p

Maggie is doing the same as Allie
Temp hasnt dropped enough yet.
Thats Allies normal temp :) 99.1-99.5
Shes lower for some reason then my other dogs
Keep us posted were here today if you need us

I see there are no babies yet from this crowd. Darn, I was looking forward to reading a good whelp story.

Tinky's temp never does what it is supposed to before whelping so I've given up being a slave to the thermometer with her. Works for my other girls though.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for you all. :goodluck:

I was going to PM you and ask if her temp had dropped ,as I went back thru the thread it didnt say anything. Because I had no warning when Allie had them on the couch also. I'm watching her close...lol
How are the babies doing this morning?
All plump lil tummies?
