| Im sorry it took so long to post, but I haven't been able to move all day. I have been laying in bed with Brewser trying to understand what happened. She lost the puppy. Everything with the labor seemed to be going normal and I was on the phone with the vet all night giving updates on how she was progressing. He thought it was going fine too, but I had a bad feeling about it so I took her in. The baby came breech, and she passed the hips but somehow the shoulders got stuck, the vet did everything he could to get her out--it was a little girl--but when she came out there was no heartbeat. He tried everything, and worked on her for quite a while but she was gone. It was the most awful thing I have ever gone through. Brewser seems okay but she cries if I leave her for one second, I have to have my hand touching her at all times too. It's sooo hard...I have her room full of baby stuff...I even bought a playpen that is set up at the foot of the bed--and it kills me that its sitting empty... |

| I forgot to add that the vet said that is very surprised that this happened...I don't know what that means...but he couldn't figure out why this happened the way it did. |

| I am so sorry that you lost your little baby girl. Sometimes when they are bigger and get stuck for a longer time in the birth canal they are compressed and sadly they die. We lost our first puppy last year from being stuck in the birth canal too long...unfortunately it happens and I really hope your girl will be ok! Make sure you check her nipples everyday to make sure they are not getting too firm so she does not get an infection, since she does not have a puppy to nurse on them. Sending you and your girl hugs...

| I am sorry that the puppy did not survive. Your baby is lucky to have you to comfort her on her loss. When my Lily lost her first born the umbilical cord came out first followed by the pups feet. Was the brown goo that you saw possibly the umbilical cord? The pup that Lily lost was only 2.25 oz. It wasn't too big to pass through her, (She is just over 4 lbs.) but it was in the birth canal too long. I hope that Mama is doing better.

| The vet said the pup was big but not enough that she should have had problems. I'm still not sure what went wrong. We wanted one of Brewser's pups-we hadn't planned on selling just keeping for pets, but I just could never put us through this again. |
