| Question about AKC/CKC registrations re: litters/puppies Okay.. This has been really bothering me... It's like puppy mill capitol around here and I just read the classifieds to see the poor puppies being pushed out by this one breeder in particular who IS a definite BYB and may possibly be a puppy mill (always has chihuahuas, pugs, and mix breeders). I've heard her place is disgusting... She's putting her toes in boarding too! But what scares me is that she takes unspayed/unneutered *SMALL* dogs in as well... You can all assume what that will lead to! She's trying to trade off a blue chihuahua pup for a yorkie... Hopefully she never finds one!!! On the other side of the chihuahua sale, she's also selling them with ConKC papers.. The parents "have" AKC and CKC papers, but she's only registering the puppies CKC. Wouldn't you think that she bought the parents as pets to pay a cheaper price and can obviously only offer CKC papers...? Just would like opinions... I wish I could save these poor babies instead of this woman just worried about the almighty $$$... I know I should stop looking but its so hard..

| I would not trust someone like that or anything they "claim" to have...registration papers or otherwise. I can honestly say, from what you have described...w/ me it would never get far enough to have to try to find out the truth about the registration. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | What I have found in my area are that alot of breeders are using CKC because they have been in trouble with AKC and /or know that they can't pass AKC visits. Very scary!!! So what are they hiding??? |

| I Am Totally New To This So Bare With Me.how Can A Person Get In Trouble With The Akc And Could A Perspective Buyer Find Out Why? And Is Ckc Always Bad?i Mean Can You Get A Healthy Cute Pup That Could Be Ckc? And While Looking For My Boy I Saw A Lot Of Akc Pups That Were Not Worth The Paper Written On. I Love All Yorkies But Some Looked So Bad I Just Wondered How Could They Breed Them.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | AKC can do random house visits and alot of breeders "doing things not to standard" could be shut down and so to avoid this they will leave AKC and register CKC. I really don't know much about CKC, but I'm most sure there are wonderful yorkies registered this way!!! I only chose AKC because thats what I wanted my dogs to be and I'm not hiding anything so I welcome them to check my home and breeding practices. But some......wouldn't welcome that. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Your welcome. Yes I don't think anyone would say that CKC dogs were bad because they are CKC dogs. Or even unregistered ones. |

ANY registry can do random house visits. I actually reported a miller once that was keeping about 50 dogs in a chicken house. She had AKC and CKC dogs. I reported her to both. A CKC inspector showed up and took action before the AKC one. | |||
