| Prospective Buyers I was told today that I was being selfish because I sold my pet quality yorkies on a spay and neuter contract and then told they couldn't believe I was recommendable LOL! I politely told her good luck on her search and that responsible and reputable breeders will only sell on a spay and neuter contract! She gave me a good chuckle today! I could have really ticked her off when she told me she had 3 children and two were under 3 and I don't place puppies with families with that young of children but left it alone! I am selfish when it comes to my yorkies Just thought I would pass my day on today! Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

| LOL That's a laugh. In my opinion, reputable breeders always spay/neuter their pups and retired show/breeding dogs before placing them into pet homes (or require that they be done by a certain point). How in the world would that be selfish??? More like THEY are being selfish by wanting the puppy for breeding so they can experience cute puppies and make money... Well, at least it was clear that person wouldn't make a good home for one of your puppies What part of Texas are you from?

| No you were being a responsible breeder. People just amaze me. They get a pup, and the first thing they want to do is breed them. Like there's not enough homeless pups out there.

| Well I commend you for being a selfish breeder! And I commend you for biting your tounge with her more than I would. Reeks of someone wanting a quality dog to turn into a quick profit, IMO. |

| I bit my tongue LOL. This is really the only second person that has contacted me that was not so nice about having to spay or neuter a pet. They just aren't educated! sigh! Donna |

| That's exactly it, they're not educated. They don't know what makes a dog a good breeding prospect or a pet. They don't understand our responsibility to the breeders who intrusted their lives work into our hands. They haven't a clue as to how much work properly breeding and raising these little angels are. They just see money and a fun experience for their children. We all get bad mouthed occasionally for standing our ground but so be it. Keep up the good fight.

| I'm like Mary, my yorkies will not go to a family with small children or just starting out. Some may not like it, then so be it, it's my dogs, my responsibility and my right! If I'm being selfish oh well. It takes a lot to make sure breeding is done correctly. If fact, if I do end up placing Dolly she will be spayed before she leaves my home. If I keep her I just can't show her in the puppy classes LOL she's big LOL. Under the standard but close. She's got awesome structure and is going to have coat to die for! I'm still not sure yet about her! Molly on the other hand is just like her momma Cammie! Going to have that short cobby body and oh my such a face!!! She will debut in the ring in Glen Rose. If she doesn't get to size I'll show her for awhile and probably place her. She's a doll! |

| If a breeder told me she did not require a spay/neuter contract, I'd run away as fast as I could! That's on the top ten list of what makes a reputable breeder. |
