as Pat said never feed a cold puppy milk, it can kill them...you can take a drop of karo onto your finger and wipe it on each ones tongue remember just a tiny drop...also if you cant get them to latch on put a tad of karo on the nipple sometimes if their strong enough they will latch on to that...

if you have beef liver that too works wonders for a weak puppy...

Thanks, I did not know about the cold puppy and not feeding it milk. What makes a puppy cold like that. Do you ever use a heating pad, with of course a blanket wrapped around it? pooh's mum

yes always ...under the whelping bed only on low wrapped in a towel, just enough to keep it warm.

A weak puppy is a cold puppy it cant generate its own heat so you need to get it heated...nutridrops or karo and heat can help revive it in some cases...all depends on how weak it is...

I have used the heating pad on low and wrapped in a blanket, always in a corner of the whelping box. but have not experienced a cold puppy before..so I am learning something new yet again.

If I have a pup tht is very weak and cold, I put the pup in my bra. My body temp and movement will slowly warm the pup up.
