It might be confusing, having Thor's Day and Thursday in the same week, but it must done.

Thor had an unbelievable day today. First, at doggie daycare, they said he played for reals with not one, but TWO dogs, for the very first time ever. The daycare said after he played, he strutted around the center like he was the biggest, baddest dog alive.

I teared up when they told me because I am such a sap. But really, after almost a year of really good daycare, Thor finally...

4 1/2 Minute Stay!

Looks like we're going to hit the 5 minute Stay resolution pretty easily. In fact, I think I may make it a 5 minute Outside Stay, just to give us something to work on.

I had intended to try Thor on a 3 minute out of sight Stay, but I ended up running longer than intended, and when I got back, he'd been there for 4:30! Way to go, Thor!

Things you never wanted to know about your yorkie

Guess what I learned yesterday?



Thor loves horse manure. Love, love, LOVES it.


He loves sniffing it.

He loves peeing on it.

He loves eating it.

And most of all, he loves rolling in it.


You know what I don't like about horse manure? Thor sniffing it, peeing on it, eating it, and most of all, rolling in it.

Thor's New Year Resolutions, Round II

Wow, has it been a year?? I can't believe it. When I look back, I see how much work Thor has done and how much he has learned.


Thor's accomplishments include:

* Daily adorableness.

* Fully house trained. He will even pee / poop on command!

* Very strong Stay: I can go out of his eyeline and/or walk very far away from him for over a minute. Inside, he can do about a two minute Stay.

* Lots of fun tricks: Sit, Down, Up, Spin,...

Thor hits a major doggy milestone

You guessed it! Thor let another dog sniff his butt.

Thor has been going to an excellent doggy daycare two times a week to help him with his social skills. He actually did quite well today. He met two Pomeranians in the park and greeted them both appropriately. He even made a tentative play bow to one of them. He is generally a big ol' hypocrite when it comes to butt sniffing - no butts are off-limits to him, but he believes his own should be un-sniffable. I've read that it's common...
