| This is Jackson - he is fully a Yorkshire Terrier (as far as I know, although the breeder did not supply papers) but he was 6.5 lbs at 16 weeks, so we are not sure. Let me know if you have had or have a Yorkie pup which is above AKC breed standards I still love him no matter what his size is, but just wondering if he has anything else in him (without paying for a doggie DNA analysis!) |

| He is about the same size as my (Biewer) girls were at that age. They are now 5 yrs and 2 1/2 months and they are 12 and 14 pounds. I love their size though...they're like little living stuffed animals! |

| What a handsome guy There are several larger yorkies on here and we lovingly call them 'teapots'. You can even join the teapot club after Jackson is a year! I'm sure some teapot owners will post here soon.

| He is adorable, and I am definitely happy with his size increasing or staying the same - as long as he is healthy @my2boys That sounds perfect.. Biewer yorkies have such adorable colouring! @Deb1 Yes - he is, but his crate is a little big for his size right now so it works out perfectly ![]() @CouversMom Thanks for the info, I'm going to look in to that! The growth chart does not go up that high, so I am left to guess as to the future.. even the vet gave me little information as to his future size. |

| @jennmac415 I think it's not that uncommon. As far as I know, some breeders breed for the smaller size as people will pay more for a 'teacup' yorkie. However, Jackson (my puppy) is 19 weeks, almost above the breed standard size, and completely healthy and happy. We go on at least one walk a day, and visit an off-leash park every few days. He is very active and definitely not fat! |

| He looks Yorkie to me... but I'm definitely not an expert. My first Yorkie, Marley, was turned in at my office. I had no idea what his background was. He was "about two"; flea covered; had ticks; had nails so long it had to hurt; had on a collar that was so little it was choking him; ... you get the picture. Anyway, I sent off one of those DNA kits, and turns out he's purebred. He's probably four now, and about 9#. Yorkies come in a lot of sizes. I think your baby is just on the big side. When there is confusion, it's generally with Silkies, but they have a unique look, and your baby does not look like a Silky. Join the Teapot club, and enjoy your baby. I have since adopted a tiny Yorkie, and he is a holy terror. Tiny is not always better. |

| @GuinnessStout Yay How do you keep his coat trimmed? The longer hair look must be too much work with a larger yorkie... I took Jackson to a groomer and found he looked almost like a Schnauzer - looking for pictures to take the next time around |

| @Yorkiesatwork That's so funny - my name is Marley That is a sad story, but at least it all turned out well in the end! Happy to have a healthy pup. |

| ♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | My Orion is a member of the YT Teapot Club! He is 18mths old and weighs in at 13.8lbs!! I was told he would get no bigger than around 6lbs...ya that didn't happen. My Jersey (Biewer) is 5mths old and weighs in at 6lbs already, again I was told she will be around 6lbs fully grown...I'm not destined to have a 'small' pup I dont think... More to snuggle and love!

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | Your puppy looks so similar to my Yorkshire terrier =) At sixteen weeks he weighed exactly that amount! Dexter is AKC registered and his parents were TINY. He just happened to turn out a little larger =P But he is definitely purebred! Dexter looks kinda similar to your puppy, but Dexter has floppy ears. You would be surprised how many of these little guys end up weighing 8-14 pounds. Your little guy is so cute!! |
